My fav ramen place. Always amazing! Beware it gets busy because the building is small, and they are VERY popular given the... deliciousness of their food. Please try them, they have 3 locations! (Pic is of their curry ramen, one of my favorites!) Read more

After having gone to many ramen shops up and down So Cal, Nishiki is definitely top 3. It is more on the Americanized side of... things but the quality of their noodles, broth, chasu and eggs are top notch. Its a very beginner friendly restaurant for thosethat are new to Ramen. Its hard to go wrong with any of their "big three": Smoke Bomb Black, Nishiki or Akuma ramens. Our go-toappetizers are the gyoza and kaarage, highly recommend. Any time we are in SD, its sooo hard to chose not to go to Nishiki overother places! Its just THAT good. Will says that if you go during peak hours sometimes you'll have to wait to sit in (average:15-30 mins). BUT they have an amazing queue system that lets you monitor who's ahead of you via your phone and will text/callwhen your table is ready. Read more

I love, love, loveeeee this place! Wow! Such an incredible, tasty experience each time I come here! Pictured is the vegetarian... delight with no egg noodle and no tomato! It is heavenly, and feels like a warm, comforting hug that could make even the worstday feel like hope is around the corner. I highly recommend coming here, the ambience is clean, there's good music and attentivestaff! The edamame is also very delicious and I would recommend trying that along with your ramen. Everyone I take here alwaysleaves with a full belly, no leftovers and a smile on their face. If you can, you got to try this restaurant, it'sunforgettable! Read more

This is my second review for Nishiki ramen(go see TripAdvisor/Yelp). Located in a heavy Japanese area(markets and food spots... around) I went back for lunch. I took the lunch special, braised beef ramen and another order of takoyaki. I know there isn't atokoyaki spot in SD to fix my cravings, they added some chow mein croton which was weird. They didn't do that before. Nothingspecial on the takoyaki, just picky. The ramen was better, maybe I'm not a black garlic type of ramen guy. The braised beefwent well with the ramen. Umami of the beef and broth was highlighted. Broth good but didn't hold the heat long enough. Noodleswere simple and slurpability average. In all, it was better than some of the speciality ramen the have. Simple braised porkramen was better than black garlic. Hasn't changed my ramen ranking tho. Not in my top 3 but maybe an occasional spot to breakthe other ramen norm. Read more

I liked this place but not quite a 5 star. Ramen was good. I liked the vibe of some semi-loud and upbeat music. The House Sake... is something to stay away from but Ramen and Chicken Appetizer were good. Will be back but try other places first. Read more

I visited this place on a Wednesday evening, there was no waiting queue and we easily got a table for four. This was around 8pm.... I ordered their chicken karaage! I'm not a fan of fried chicken. But here I felt like reordering it! Please do try it. Stronglyrecommend it. The dip that comes along with that karaage chicken also had a very nice taste. I also had the chicken ramen. Iwasn't very impressed with the broth. I have had much better broths before. But overall the ramen was good. I added an extratopping of roasted garlic to my ramen. It was really nice. I would like to visit this place again and try their other ramen! Read more

The restaurant is clean and service is fast. There are plenty of options for Ramen to choose from. However, I think the broth is... a little bit salty. Overall, it's worth checking it out. Read more
