My boyfriend and I, while visiting from Baltimore, tried this place after a local we met at a bar recommended it for breakfast.... It did not disappoint. Don't question yourself with the menu ? you want the California burrito. Trust me. In addition to yourprotein of choice (I went with carne asada), the California is filled with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and fries. I can'timagine a better hangover food (though it also hit the spot one morning sans hangover). The rest of the burritos don't quitehave the balance this one does. Bring cash ? it's cash only ? and prepare yourself for a big breakfast, because this bad boy ishuge. I was proud of myself for getting through half. Service is wonderful and fast. The California burrito here is incredible! I got mine with chicken - will definitely get the classic with carne asana next time.... Note that this place is cash only! No bathrooms. There are a couple tables outside. Super friendly service. Read more
We had lunch here after walking in on Newport Ave. Some of the best Mexican food in San Diego! They are cash only but they take... your order seriously. They listened to us with our food allergies and made the food our way. The rolled tacos were delicious,the tortas were very flavorful, and the chips and guacamole was great! Read more
I had two California burritos, both were the best I've had in San Diego. I'm not a connoisseur but they seem to do it right,... achieving a great level of moistness and crunch. My second one i got with carnitas instead of carne asada, which to me was animprovement. Lovely people nice vibe good quick food. Try the orange salsa if you can handle a spicy punch! Best carnitas in San Diego, and their breakfast burritos are legendary. The prices are extremely affordable (especially... considering the high quality of the food!) The service is always friendly and efficient and they've redecorated the small diningroom -- very cute! I also love the new outdoor seating... People watching is always interesting in OB. Read more
