We came here because it was close to shelter island. I ordered shrimp fajitas and my wife had swordfish tacos. To begin the... shrimp fajitas were BOMB it was so good but the rice and beans tasted like they were cooked yesterday. The swordfish tacos weremeh and so were her rice and beans. We both enjoyed the atmosphere and the hospitality of our waiter. He was really attentiveand friendly. Read more

We got the calamari rellano (spl?) And a carni asada burrito with refried beans and cheese! And it came out to our table hott,... fresh and yummy!! The atmosphere is absolutely friendly, with 2 stories of table seating including outside dining. Outside is asmall area so if you have a big group, I'm pretty sure they will seat you inside.. Staying local to this restaurant, I did a Google search of eateries close by, saw the reviews and thought we'd give it a... try. The reviews aren't wrong. We were quickly greeted and seated in the upstairs outdoor area, brought menus, glasses of waterand a complementary bowl of tortilla chips, salsa and the cheese sauce, all of which were gorgeous. We were automaticallybrought out another bowl of chips and sauces, again complementary when we'd nearly eaten them all. We ordered the chickenfajitas x2 and the chimichanga burrito x2. All four meals arrived quickly and the fajitas served on a sizzling skillet which wasan impressive sight when being served with the sizzling sound and steam which filled the air with gorgeous aromas. The mealswere huge. So huge that three of us had to have to-go boxes so that's lunch sorted for tomorrow! Not wasting it as it was reallynice. The chicken wasn't dry, had loads of flavour and there was mountains of it. For drinks, three of us had the mocktail thathad pineapple and coconut syrup. I want to say it was called a Carmen Miranda but can't be sure. Regardless, it was heaven in aglass and good value at $6. Service was friendly, helpful and quick and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again if in San Diegoagain. The total bill came to $103 for four of us eating just a main with drinks. If I could get the cheese sauce back to theUK, I'd buy it by the gallon. Read more

This is a consistent and reliably terrific local hotspot. I?ve been to this place a dozen times over the years and everything... has always been perfect. The wait staff is always polite and helpful and the venue with the outdoor seating is great. Thecurrent special was the seafood avocado rellano which was full of flavor and had a touch of enjoyable spice/heat. Pair thiswith the house ultimate margarita and you?ll have a wonderful meal. The house Margarita is made with a few different freshfruit juices and is delicious. I?ve enjoyed coming here for years and I?ll continue to be a loyal customer for years to come. Thank you, Miguel! We had a good lunch. Love the chips, salsa and cheese sauce. We got enchiladas and Flautas plate. I thought the flautas would be... bigger but it was still a good portion. The enchiladas were fantastic and had a great sauce. The waitress was really helpful andwas quick with the service. I also got a lemonade drink with ginger ale and mint in it. That was really fresh tasting and wasperfect for lunch! Love this place! Read more

The food is always so amazing here! I absolutely love the atmosphere and would recommend sitting upstairs on the patio. This... visit i ordered the Tacos Norteño (pictured) and I absolutely recommend them! Each table is given chips with salsa and a spicyqueso blanco type sauce - all very yummy as well! The service is always fast and friendly! Definitely give Miguel's a try! Read more

You can fulfill your Mexican food craving at Miguel's without being overstuffed with lard belly. Our party ordered two combo... plates. Enchiladas suizas with rice and beans. The other combo was two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Of course thesewere complimented with coconut margaritas. I was impressed with the toasted coconut garnish. We arrived on Halloween eveningand the restaurant was practically vacant. We reviewed immediate and friendly service. We were seated only three minutes and wasserved with chips, salsa, water and the iconic cheese dipping sauce. I like the ambience at this location because indoor, outdoor, bar, table and two level seating is available. The restaurant has a section layout which can accommodate small of largeparties. In general, the food is 3.5 but the added features make it 4.0. Dry refried beans and rice are frustrating to eat. However, Miguel's rice and refried beans were moist flavorful and remained this way even when the food was room temperature. Oh,the chicken enchiladas had spillage and I just scooped the chicken with the chips on the table. Portion size is quitereasonable. In general, we enjoyed the meal but it was not memorable. Read more
