Reviews for Little Sakana Sushi Bar in San Diego, CA
When you get there, you sign in on the tablet to put yourself on the waitlist. Your entire party needs to be there in order to... get seated or else you’ll get bumped.\n\nThey do not have a bar but their drinks are pretty and fruity for the soju cocktails.I got the sweet heart which consisted of guava, yogurt, club soda and soju. So good!\n\nOur table ordered a mixture ofnigiri’s, rolls, and appetizers. Grateful for our server, Kalani, who only placed 75% of our order and held off at the rest sothat we wouldn’t get charged for left overs. So glad she did that because we almost went over board.\n\nAt the end, shepresented to us, the “secret menu”! It was salmon belly, yellowtail belly and the salmon cheek.\n\nYou also need to orderfresh wasabi ($2). We got two for the table. Makes a total difference compared to the paste.\n\nOverall, you get a lot for thevalue especially when they’re not many AYCE sushi places around. Service was great. All that rice and rolls can fill you upreal quick. Dessert is not included. Read more
Shout out to Sam for awesome service. She kept the sushi flowing and extremely helpful. Oh, the sushi rolls were good, too! ... Ordered crunch, Alaska and dragon and they were all equally tasty. (My favorite was the Alaska). Place was crowded, yet layoutwas comfortable. It’s a must visit if you have an appetite and want good sushi. Read more
This is my first time ever going to a Sushi buffet so I was confused how it worked. For an all you can eat sushi buffet this... place was pretty good. You can only order 2 rolls at a time but it did take a while for us to recieve our oder so go ahead andorder your next rolls when you recieve your 1st order because by the time you finish eating the 2 rolls you\'ll still be waitingfor your next order. Love that they do make it fresh and its not pre-made sitting on the counter drying up. $30 sounds a bitpricey but it\'s definitely worth it. If I\'m having a sushi crave I would definitely come back here to have my fill. Oh bewarned that there is a waste fee so if you don\'t finish your food they will charge you for whatever sushi you can\'t finish. Read more
I was really eager to try this place as I had seen it going to the movie theater several times. When you 1st walk into this... place it has a much more modern feel to it. You can sit inside or outside there are plenty of tables although there was a good20 min wait time. It is an all you can eat place but they also charge a waste fee so if you waste food they will charge you forit. They did mess up my order a few times and One of the orders I had never arrived until the very end of the meal. The foodwas all right I\'ve had better in several places but not bad. One of the best items that I got to try was the Furikake Fries. SoI had 2 negative things about this place they messed up my order and also I seen a waiter drop some to go boxes look to see ifanyone noticed then picked it up and gave it to the customer without getting new ones. Came in with the family around 2 pm. All you can eat was 28.99 and the children were 9.99 with a variety of appetizer and sushi... options. Everything came out relatively quick and seemed fresh. Favorite definitely was the Star Wars roll ! Read more
I had heard good things about this new restaurant, and I was delighted to confirm that the food was delicious. Little Sakana is... one of the few Sushi buffets in San Diego, and they have their menu organized really well. I ordered the Crab Rangoon and theBeef Gyoza for the appetizers (not pictured). They were a nice start to this meal. My friend and I each ordered a coupledifferent rolls Each one had their own unique flavor. My favorite would have to be the Hurricane roll. It has shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, salmon, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. The service was a little slow, but it was to be expected on a Sunday. I wantedto give a shout out to Ryan (I think that was his name). He was not our server; I believe he was a busser. He helped us out whenour server disappeared. He really helped us out and made our experience a pleasant one. Thank you. I’ll be back soon!! Read more

Absolutely delicious sushi with a fun twist. Ordered the sushi by plate and got the lemon rolls and deep fried Cali rolls. 10/10... recommend.\n\nWe didn’t do all you can eat for dinner because it’s $38/person and we left full and spent much less. but thelunch ($28/person) would probably be worth it.
