Edit as of 9/7/2022 My opinion of this place has slowly declined to a rating of 1 star. I used to love this place, but the last... three visits have given me such a bitter taste in my mouth, metaphorically speaking. The woman manning the cash register isquite rude, the prices on certain items are way more than you?d see at a comparable Mexican restaurant, and I?ve witnessed twothings that have me wondering about a possible health code violation. One burrito we ordered had A LITERAL SCREW in it. Whenthe manager was confronted, he took the screw from me and offered to make me another burrito. He didn?t even attempt to give mea refund or remedy the situation beyond making another burrito. I don?t know how to begin to address that. Secondly, while Iwas watching them make a burrito for me today (9/7/2022), the man making my food didn?t cover his mouth while he coughed severaltimes - resulting in him coughing all over the hot top where my veggies were being made. Beyond the two major issues mentionedabove, they are prone to making mistakes. Over the last year, I?ve had to drive back to the store at least half a dozen times tohave them correct a mistake or a make an item that they missed the first time around. Lastly, the food quality has gonedownhill.. the food used to be outstanding. We loved coming here because of the quality ingredients. I can?t stand by thatsentiment anymore because it?s not true. In summary, I will not be back. Please find another place to eat because it?s only amatter of time before you?re disappointed with the service, food quality, or some other aspect of your experience. Not impressed as a first timer. Lady at the register was kinda rude and unwelcoming. They only had 1 vegan tamale option, when... there are at least 5 on the menu. I ordered a mini vegan taco and a tamale bowl, but then when I got my order gave me oneregular taco which I was charged $8 for?! Probably will not be returning. Adore this place. I lived in SD almost a decade ago and would come here for authentic and delicious Mexican comfort food. I?ve... just come back after so many years away and it was the first place I wanted to go to! Their tamales and bowls are amazing. Read more
