My husband and I stopped in for dinner and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a glass of wine while we looked at... the menu and ordered a pizza to go (which was absolutely delicious). We asked if we could run an errand while they cooked it,which they accommodated happily. When we got back they met us at the door with our pizza and we were on our way! We reserved a table here for our family of six to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The availability of gluten free pasta and... pizza was why we chose this restaurant. The authentic Italian menu was a pleasant surprise. Between us, we ordered the Caesarsalad (the least favorite item we ordered), the Exotica salad with perfectly cooked salmon (dressing was delicious), the friedcalamari, garlic focaccia and gluten free focaccia, pizza, pappardelle and gluten free pasta (both with pink vodka sauce).Everything was outstanding, including the attentive service. The food was amazing, and quickly put this place extremely high on my list of favorite Italian restaurants. I take my Italian... food very seriously, and the night I went the pasta was cooked to perfection. So many restaurants butcher their pasta byovercooking it and serving mush. It always pleases me to find a place where it's done right, and La Taverna does it right. Theservice was fantastic as well, and the wine recommendation went perfectly with my food and has since become my second favoritewine. Bonus points as far as I'm concerned.
