Reviews for La Perla Cocina in San Diego, CA
The DEFINITION of Mexican comfort food. We so appreciated the kind and friendly employee behind the counter; she was so warm and... sweet. The food is simple yet so so effective. Pair it with their amazing salsas, an ice cold Jarritos, and wow. You have got awinner! Read more

Great fish tacos and more. Awesome location and the staff very fun to be around.
Typical shop with plenty of options. I had the carne asada & carnitas tacos. The steak was good but I was a little let down with... the carnitas. It was seasoned differently vs what I?m used to. So far, I haven?t had the type of carnitas taco like they do themin NYC. I guess Cali does it different? $5 tacos. The burritos seem to be a hit as well. Read more
Great food. Recommend fish taco and the California burrito. Only suggestions would to get the fries a little bit crispier (they... were a tad soggy) and then provide a hotter/spicier salsa option Read more
Went to Oscar?s across the street. Looked across the street and saw La Perla. Saw that reviews were better there on Yelp so I... decided to try it. Excellent! I had sea bass, shrimp and octopus tacos. They were all outstanding. Ordered a side of beans andrice and they were also excellent! Great meal for 22 bucks. Read more
I like it a lot. The people are delightful and friendly and the tacos are great. Great meats, my fave is the Birria tho.
The food existed, and not much more. The server didn?t want to sell us tacos, charged us twice for chips and guac, and then... wouldn?t give us cups for water. The tacos, when they eventually came, were subpar and a bit under filled. The stars perfectlyaligned to give us a terrible experience. Of all the tacos I had in San Diego, these were far and away the least memorableexcept for the bad time we had ordering. I?ll die on this hill. Read more
