Such a cool location, one of my favorites in the city. Great place to meet friends. Dog friendly to boot. The downtown location... has some of the finest brewery food you will find. Really hope they weather the storm. Come out when they do and support them! Read more

This place is awesome ..hidden near the highway . We went in the evening finding the brewery.. finally got it. When you enter... the area first you will see huge storage tank and then Mr. Karl Strauss photo on the building . You enter the brewery you willfind on the right side there are taps and the list written on the board like OLD style... It looks really cool. On the leftthere are some clothes and some accessories for sale...it's unique. On the bar stage I met Mr. David ..he was very kind and gavethe information about the beer. He suggested some them to taste with the cost of course. 1. Windansea wheat 2. Red trolley 3.Queen of tarts 4. Wreck Alley 5. Peanut butter cup Porter 6. Pathway white IPA 7. Barrel Aged Alley 8. Aurora 9. Big barrel 10.Pale Ale. My favorite was Peanut Butter Beer. On the other side we could see the bottle fillers. I asked Mr. David "Is itpossible for brewery tour... He said on Saturdays only it's possible on 3 and 5 pm. But to need register online. Here are fewphotos attached. Thank you Mr. David for your kindness. Read more

Karl Strauss might be San Diego's most under appreciated brewery. If you want to try the best of what they have to offer, stop... by this location and check out some of their barrel aged or delicious sour beers. I especially recommend the special events heldhere. The Changing of the Barrels Anniversary party is something I look forward to every year Read more

Good beer, good people, squirreled away in a small industrial area. Took the tour and sampled some beers, the Mosaic Session IPA... and Big Barrel DIPA were two that stood out to me. No food on-site and no food trucks present while we were there, but we wereable to get a pizza delivered so we could hang out a little longer and enjoy another beer or two before heading out. Woulddefinitely go back. Read more

This brewery is pretty chill. It's in a somewhat odd location at the end of a road but that just gives it a certain "coolness"... factor I suppose. Their beers are good and they have indoor and outdoor seating as well as some games outside so you can enjoythem with your friends. Read more
