Overall I'm happy with my first visit to this Jersey Mike's, I would say the customer service was good, they were very fast and... accurate with my order. Food: 4.5/5 Service and Setting: 2/5 Value: 2.5/5 Though an unpopular opinion, chain restaurants are able to become chains... because they offer something good that satisfies a majority of people. As I slowly revisit the chain restaurants of my past, Iam always humbly reminded that the food is good. Jersey Mike’s in Black Mountain feels new and clean in a sort ofdated-looking plaza. The workers were nice and communicative, however, they neglected me for another customer. I ordered mysandwich on the phone and was quoted 10 minutes. When I arrived, they said that someone else ordered the exact same things andthey gave it to them instead since they ordered in-store. I waited an additional 10 minutes. While not earth-shattering, it didleave a bad taste in my mouth due to the lack of professionalism. I will treat this as a sort of one-time thing, but maybe youshould give yourself some extra time if you order on the phone or app. #66 Portabella Cheese Steak: 4.5/5 I’ve never been toPhiladelphia or eaten a “real” cheese steak before, but I imagine that it is not too far off from the one created at JerseyMike’s. The serving of steak is generous with well-cooked veggies. The onions are nicely caramelized and lend a sweetness tothe overall dish, the peppers are fresh and add another layer of flavor, and the mushrooms are deeply savory and deepen theumami of the overall sandwich. The American cheese they use is very mild and sort of sauces the whole dish as it melts into thenatural juices of the steak, acting as a cohesive glue both in structure and flavor.
