Today we ate lunch at Havana Grill for the first time and we really enjoyed it. The menu has so many great selections, but we... settled on sharing the sampler platter. It was a great variety of different items. The empanada was so flavorful and filling. The plantain chips, and everything else was just awesome. The atmosphere is also great. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seatingwith Cuban style music to add to the ambiance. Friendly service and professionalism from the staff. Try this place soon, youwill not be disappointed. Read more
Havana Grill is a great spot to enjoy a great meal! My friends and I visited this Cuban restaurant for the first time and it... really impressed. I ordered the hot Cubano sandwich which was packed with flavor including; jalapenos, roasted pork,caramelized, onions, cilantro, and garlic aioli. I decided to substitute the fries with garlic mashed potatoes. I also orderedthe guava and cheese pastry (not pictured). It was warm and flaky, probably the best of its kind in San Diego. Th atmosphere ofthe restaurant had that island vibe and is comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Stephanie was my server andshe made this experience a great one! This place is sooooo AMAZING! The food is excellent, the staff are excellent, the desserts are, you guessed it, EXCELLENT! I... 100% recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful. Uplifting Cuban music playing in the background, not too loud nortoo low, just right. We ordered the Lechon plate, Ropa Vieja plate, Sampler plate, 2 empanadas with guava and cheese inside, aCuban Bread with Butter and Garlic, a flan, an arroz conLeche, a Cuban coffee, and a Koka Kola Lite. We love coming here! The papas rellenas are huge and tasty! The empanadas were bigger than my palm.. The lechon and ropa Viejas... amazingly flavourful. True Cuban cuisine. Service was top notch. I ordered a Sangria..it was delish. We were too full fordessert, but those pastries looked so good! Lol Read more
Their grilled veggie sandwich was spot on. The goat cheese made all the difference. The plantain chips were nice and crunchy.... Guava pastry had just the right amount of sweetness. I also like their cortadito, it was smokey. Overall, it was a goodvegetarian meal. Read more
Great impression walking in: super clean, authentic feeling and crisp decorations with TV monitors with the menus above the bar... when you order. We got the Havana chicken sandwich and the crazy Cuban Sandwich. Sweet plantains and a guava and cream cheesepastry. All delicious and on point. The crazy Cuban had these cubes of pork rinses that had pops of pork flavor with the tangyflavor of pickles and mustard. The chicken sandwich was also fantastic- the char on the grilled chicken was just the rightamount. Would definitely recommend to anyone for lunch like we had. If I could give 10 stars I could! As a Puerto Rican, I miss Caribbean food so much. We stopped here to try it out and we were in... for a surprise. Every single employee was so nice and friendly, they waited and answered questions. The food didn't take longwhile we got our drinks the food was served.
