Reviews for Hane Sushi in San Diego, CA
Loud and lively at lunch time. Reservations probably a good idea but there were seats. Ambiance is ok, but definitely loud.... Sushi is pretty solid. Had some nigiri and a roll. Try the golden eye snapper, uni and the toro. Rolls are good but a bit on thelarge side circumference wise. Friendly chefs but a bit understaffed at the moment when it comes to waiters. Forgivable at lunchbut might be a problem at dinner. One of our favorite sushi spots in town. Read more
Impromptu stop in for some sushi and I was very impressed! Clean and fresh sushi with quality ingredients. Nice light lunch for... two, we had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna roll, California roll (with real crab not imitation) and caterpillar roll. All equallygood. Their spicy mayo is also very nice with a mild, clean flavor (not processed or mass produced stuff) Read more
Located just a block west of Balboa Park, Hane sushi ???? is one of the tastiest and most creative sushi menus in San Diego.... Haven?t even come close to tasting all the rolls. But just means I need to go back to try more:) Read more
I?ve been here a few times before but this was my first time seating at the sushi counter. It was a completely different and... more personal experience. I ordered the nigiri omakase and it was quite filling. The chef made every nigiri right in front ofme, which I greatly appreciated. The quality of the fish was superb. This was elevated by his mixture of toppings. They werealways simple toppings that complemented the fish but didn?t overpower it. I recommend this place for any sushi lover out there. Read more
Top notch sushi restaurant in Banker's Hill. Unique specialty rolls (highly recommend the Ceviche roll) and melt-in-your-mouth... sashimi. Outdoor dining is nicely done with enough heat lamps to keep you cozy. Can't wait to go back! Read more
Hane Sushi is delicious. We went here last night for dinner and had AMAZING service and food. The sushi came out quickly and... while we waited we had some tasty smooth unfiltered sake and appetizers. The best sushi ???? roll of the night was easily theCeviche Roll which I highly recommend you try. You can also order the stuffed tomato! I can't wait to come back here with mywife and eat here again since we had a fantastic time. Read more
The whole set up of the place is weird- no waiting area inside or outside. We reserved the table by walking in, we were told... 45min wait time (Friday evening) which was understandable but at the same time half of the tables were empty (couple next toeach other which I doubt due to the social distancing as other tables were seated next to each other), management of tablesweren't very good. We waited inside right on the side of the path were people were walking in and out which made bit awkward. The food was ok, rolls were very simple (2 or 3 ingredients), small portions for the price. Food was fresh and well presentedthough. The outside area looked very cosy and romantic but we were seated right next to the table occupied by 4 guests who wereclearly too intoxicated and loud and when they asked for more alcohol, they were served so we left pretty fast after we ate asit felt uncomfortable. Could be really nice place to eat if it would be managed more appropriately. Read more
