I ordered the Key West. It was very good. Comes with... Grilled, marinated chicken, yellow rice, black beans and curry sauce,... topped with rum-soaked cranberries. Layered with chopped leafy greens greens and tomatoes. I requested plantain instead of therum soaked cranberries. I also ordered chicken wings, which were very good and didn?t look like they were pumped withsteroids. Food was very flavorful and different in comparison to my usual desire for Jamaican Caribbean food. I rated them fourstars just because the ladies taking the order were not very helpful with explaining the menu (however one was new). I receivedmore help from the cook who I found very hospitable. I have been here off and on for the past 5 years. The authentic Cuban style is a little too authentic for my taste. Cuba is a... poor country, but this San Diego restaurant really should consider buying new plates. Great menu, good value. Wait staff arevery accommodating but did not graduate from charm school. I discovered this place quite by accident. It's hidden away from all my usual routes, but when my first lunch choice was closed,... I did a quick search and came upon Embargo Grill. And I am so thrilled I did! After nine visits, I can safely call this one ofmy favorite restaurants in town. On my most recent visit, the restaurant was packed, and just one server was working, butservice was fantastic. And the food... So good! Every bite was delicious. We started with the mariquitos de platano andsangrias, I ordered the Key West, and he chose the picadillo chop. Both were packed with meat, greens, rice, beans, and so muchflavor. Read more
