I recently checked out this venue after a Padres game and had a good time listening to their live music near the bar. It's actually between a 4 and a 5. Ordered a two item combo and was happy to see Pozole as an option. Ordered Chile Relleno... which was good but sort of hoped it came with tortillas which it didn't. We ate at a bunch of different highly-rated restaurants while in San Diego for a conference and Carmelita?s was the best. It?s... conveniently located near the conference center (take the skybridge next to Petco Park). The servers were great, even when theplace was busy. Every meal starts with a complimentary basket of chips, salsa roja, and black beans. The menu has typicalMexican dishes, as well as some exceptional dishes, like the steak, the mole enchiladas, and the chicken breast with Serranosauce (pictured), all for a good price. New Mexican food joint just behind Petco Park in San Diego?s East Village. Drinks were great, food was really good but the best... part honestly was our awesome waitress.
