My waiter was amazing! I order shrimp tempera roll it was absolutely delicious! I order extra to go, I also order ceviche this... was very fresh and flavorful. Beer was fresh, food was good. Only issue was I thought the shrimp wrap was grilled but it came blackened. This is the only... reason for 4 stars. Looking at the menu again, you have a choice, but I wasn't asked and someone made the decision to make itblackened. I don't like blackened and this was extra spicy to boot, which I don't enjoy at all. I was unable to eat it andalthough we were at the bar, the bartender was so busy running around taking orders in the dining room (he was taking care ofall the tables in the bar as well as the bar itself) we couldn't catch him. We had somewhere else to be so I eating just thefries. That said, the two bites I was able to take (before I hit the spicy shrimp) were fresh and good and I would order thedish again, making sure it was grilled. I finally got to use my gift card for this place and I’m glad I did. We had a great dinner and good sake. They have a simple... sushi menu along with a good regular menu that caters to seafood but you can still find chicken for people who don’t likeseafood. We had a caterpillar roll and clam chowder for starters. I didn’t care for the chowder as it had too much onion in itand it wasn’t as typical as a New England Chowder normally would be. The main meals were quite good though. The Shrimp al laDiabla Tacos were great. The other people at the table enjoyed their meals as well. Great place for fresh seafood. Came for dinner and ordered crab cakes as an appetizer and Macadamia crusted fresh catch (we... chose Alaskan Halibut). Both of these dishes were delicious but the Halibut in particular was beyond my expectations. I'm noseafood connoisseur but for me this was one of the best fish dishes I've had. The ambience inside is nice with themed decor. Thestaff and servers were friendly, attentive and service was quick. An excellent experience overall. Read more
This place is awesome! I will say it seems much more like a place only locals know about. It's hidden away in a neighborhood, it... isn't flashy, and you won't see huge signs for it. BUT man is it good! The fish, shrimp, fries, and fish taco were crispy, veryflavorful, and filling. The menu didn't say it but you can have half n half aka my picture. The staff were friendly andattentive, atmosphere was chill and relaxed, and definitely mostly locals. Bay Park Fish Company is a great local restaurant. I find it to be a great alternative to Luce next-door. It’s definitely more... of a quiet restaurant atmosphere compared to a loud, noisy modern bar. I would expect to see a lot more families at Bay Park. Idon’t think reservations are needed here. I was able to walk in with many sitting options on a Wednesday night. There are twosections to this restaurant. One is a normal dining room and another is a bar with high tops. One downside is this is not acheap restaurant. But that is pretty typical for San Diego, but I was hoping for something a little more affordable whenyou’re not in the high touristy part of town. There is only street parking, but you can find a spot pretty much anytime ofday. They are really friendly and quick service. The food was done very soon after ordering. I would come back! Read more
