Reviews for Asti Ristorante in San Diego, CA
If you like creme brulee that's fresh from the freezer, definitely stop by here. The glazed top was soft, didn't cover the top,... and the custard texture felt like it was sitting in the fridge for the whole day. The Insalata Bella Elena was super bland andhad a paper thin slice of soggy pear. Not sure why this place has good reviews, but it seems like your typical tourist trap.Take a trip to Little Italy and you'll find Italian food with higher quality ingredients for the same price. Great service with outside seating. Had an Italian wine Masi Campfiorin which was not my favorite but ok with lots of tannin.... Had the eggplant appetizer which my wife really liked. I had the Lasagna and my wife had the veal picatta in lemon sauce. Hugeportions with good taste. Also had the lava cake appetizer. Read more
Portion sizes are big (lots of seafood) and very fresh, and the waiter super attentive. There's also outside seating and despite... being a big group we didn't need to book but the resturant looked busy. Great choice of wines too. Read more
This place had the best damn lamb chops I’ve ever had. Great recommendation from our waiter. The sauce was sooo good. It was... so much to eat honestly but I ate it all. Compliments to the chef for sure!I wish I had more veggies and they were seasoned abit more but the sauce from the lambs picked up that missing piece. For dessert I had lava cake and vanilla ice cream. I believethe server said the ice cream was made in house. It was good and not too sweet and not too much vanilla. Great balance. The lavacake was [redacted] (I WILL NOT USE THAT M WORD HERE lol), warm, and rich in flavor. I didn’t eat it all because I was so fullfrom the lamb. ???? Overall great atmosphere. It’s very mellow inside. Outdoor seating is intimate (in my opinion). Not a badplace for a serious date, anniversary, or any other celebration. Highly recommend. Read more

Great Italian restaurant with a plethora of classic dishes, large portions (American size, so for me large) The tagliatelle... bolognese (magliale) was delicious and the lobster pasta was extremely buttery, not for the faint of heart! Canadians couldeasily share one dish between two people with an appetizer. The burrata was good considering American cheese standards! Ihaven't been back to Italy since the pandemic so this place was a nice treat for my homesickness. The service was impeccable andFAST! It's location is great, an amazing atmosphere! Everyone is friendly and having a great time, the ambiance and lighting isjust right. Good for a romantic dinner but remember it's a bit noisy, Italian style! Enjoy the Prosecco and take your time! Foodcomes out FAST but eat slow and enjoy the flavours! Read more
Touristy place along a strip of pedestrian only restaurants and clubs. Indoor and outdoor seating. Fun vibrant atmosphere, our... server was OK if not a little smug and cocky. The caesar at best pedestrian and bland, plate not chilled. Carbonara decent anda nice portion. This place is expensive, two of us without dessert or alcohol was $100 including tip. Part of the menu had noprices which I found quite odd and cumbersome. Hard to decide when you have to ask the server the cost of all items you mightbe interested in. Aside from our server, the other staff was nice, efficient and friendly. I probably would try other similarplaces versus come back here again. Read more
