Abbey?s Real Texas BBQ is the real deal and THE BEST bbq in San Diego! We were only here for 3 days so we only had time for the... best eats :) The meats are cooked for 18-24 hours, and it?s the most juicy & flavorful cuts I?ve ever had. The housemade Caesarsalad and toasted cornbread are a must too! The staff are also very friendly. You know it?s good when your Uber driver parksand goes in to eat too. There are not enough stars to give this place the rating it deserves! After salivating whilst watching their videos on Youtube,... we planned a visit on route to San Diego from LA whilst on vacation from Scotland. It was so good, we returned again before ourtrip ended. Everything we ordered was so tasty, I didn't really have a favourite food as everything was of the same highquality. The tenderness of the meat and the smokey flavours are unlike anything I've ever tasted. The staff are all extremelywelcoming as soon as you walk in the door. I?ve been to bbq spots all across the US and Abbey?s is my new favorite. I tried the number 1 sampler plate so I was able to try... a little bit of everything and I?m glad I did. Every different cut of meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Another thingabout Abbey?s I loved was the actual restaurant and staff. I crave good BBQ on the regular...so when I stumbled upon this place at 8:30 at night it was a hell yeah from me. And oh boy,... did they deliver! Pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were exquisite. **tip: ask for them to put sauce on it for you so you don'tfind yourself dipping as often*** Even though we walked in just before closing they treated us all the same. Everyone wasincredibly polite and knowledgeable. A huge shout out to the owner Mark who made our experience a 6/5. He really goes above andbeyond to meet customers needs and to too it off, he is passionate about his familys business. I love when I see an owner aroundat a business, he was cleaning tables, taking trash from me and getting down in the kitchen. That kind of active participationin your business speaks volumes. Couldn?t have asked for a better experience! An amazing San Diego family owned BBQ spot that is smoked to perfection. Employees... are full of smiles and treated everyone there so kindly. Excellent Texas BBQ! We got the sample platter with brisket, ribs, chicken, and hot links. All of the meats were deliciously... tender, we ate the brisket on the platter so fast I wish we got just more. It melted in your mouth and had great flavor with itscrispy bark. I also think the hot links were fantastic, exploding in your mouth with a nice kick that lingers. I will say I donot think the sides were noteworthy here, except the Texas toast was delicious. The wait staff was all very nice, greeting us aswe came in, and I was not able to ask but the man I think was the owner threw in some extra burnt ends on the platter and wasvery hospitable. Fantastic authentic BBQ! We had this on our last day in America and it did not dissappoint. The place has a very homely and... welcoming vibe, and serves really good quality meats. The owner was very friendly and charismatic, and even gave us a small tourof the smoker in the kitchen! Highly recommend them for melt in your mouth brisket and BBQ - you HAVE to order the burnt ends!! Read more
When we walked into the store, we felt like not in San Diego, maybe somewhere in Texas. I definitely like the store?s design,... it?s warm, nice and welcoming. We came in at Sunday?s lunch time. They were not busy. We order a chicken sandwich and a pulledpork sandwich with a couple of sides. I think my chicken sandwich is nice, the chicken meat is tender. But I don?t really liketheir bbq sauce, it?s too sweet for me, while my husband thought it?s good. Their corn bread is super delicious, i highlyrecommend that, it?s probably one of the best corn breads I?ve ever had. Read more
