There cannot possibly be a worse drive through anywhere in San Antonio. I live on Brook Hollow, I go to this Whataburger all the... time, unfortunately, and they constantly disappoint. I can’t count how many times I’ve had three cars ahead of me, but ittakes 25-30 minutes to get my order and leave. It’s worse at breakfast…no, no…it’s all the time, dinner, lunchbreakfast, doesn’t matter. Then, there’s the getting my orders wrong issue, about 60% of the time, I wind up going back tohave them fix something despite the safeguards they have in place. It’s unreal! Earlier this week, I ordered in the outsidelane then I was asked to merge into inside lane with only three cars ahead of me. I sat in that lane for 25 minutes as carsordered and left in the outside lane! I asked why they did that and they did not know! I asked for the manager, she blamedhaving a bunch of high school kids working at that time, plus that particular Whataburger is a high volume restaurant. So Iasked why put kids in that position and she shrugged her shoulders. Stupidity at its finest. And it’s been the same for allten years that I’ve lived on this street. But great news! Burger Boy just opened a new restaurant a few minutes away onBitters Rd. and they have never messed up my order one time and they are fast even when they have long lines. I have been coming to this location on and off for years mostly in the daytime never had an issue ALWAYS polite. At night went... into the second lane of the drive thru to order and after order was taken they wanted me to merge so I politely told them Ican’t cause there is a lot of cars in that lane and he just told me to stay in my lane. When I pulled up.. what looked like tobe the night manager brought me my shake and said here… just very annoyed brought me my receipt and I politely said I orderedfries too just incase they didn’t get it down.. he said I know.. brought me my fries and told me to have a nice night.. but tome it wasn’t in a polite manner..my shake was given to me with syrup all over the lid and cup. I feel they did this justbecause they had to come out to me in the second lane. And how do they expect us to merge to the first lane with line of cars..that to me would cause more issues. Read more
I'm usually ok with Whataburger, but I will never go back to the Brook Hollow location. I went inside, waited 20 minutes for my... food and when I got my order the chicken strips were old like they had been sitting for a long time, and fries and bread weresoggy. I ate one strip and tossed everything else. I don't like giving bad reviews, but this was not a great stop...I gave 2stars because the workers were nice. Read more
It's better than other pop culture burger joints Just bigger better tasting fresher Ingredients. When I go to a burger joint I'm... interested in the burger and everything that comes with it. Here Whataburger shines for me. The bun and everything under it isbetter than anything anyone else is offering. Their fries are frozen and you can taste it. Nothing special no truffle oil or seasalt. Whataburger is not what it used to be, every location was a sure fire bet for some great food with solid customer service, and... the latter is still here. It seems since the Chicago merger the food doesn't have the same luster. Last night I went through thedrive thru for the first time in 3 months, I only remember because I was hesitant as my last experience at this Whataburger wasnot memorable. Received friendly service with a bit of a line, but to me that signaled something good, people will wait for goodfood, but when I got home.....yeah, the bread was hard, the fries stale, meat was dry and the tastes of old seem to be gone.This is not intended to be a bad review, but an honest look in how Whataburger has fallen. No problems with my food, delicious as always. Finding a way to speed up the time spent sitting in drive thru line would be nice... but its not that big of an issue. This is my go to Whataburger. Read more
