As someone who lived in the Caribbean their whole life, I can honestly say this food wasn?t the best but it wasn?t all bad. The... chicken didn?t taste like it touched a grill at all, the mac and cheese was kinda flavorless but everything else was good. Ialso had a side of fries that was way over-seasoned and had a sweet taste to it. Overall it wasn?t a bad experience, theambiance in the restaurant was nice, I?m just not sure I?d take another 40 minute drive to go there. Read more
I drove from Houston to have my first Jerk experience, and it was worth the drive!!! All the Chicken was moist and full of... flavor. I was not expecting to have fried chicken, but glad I did. The sweet and the spicy sauces are bomb! The bread rollsare good and compliment the meals. The fries had a little too much masala seasoning, but adding sauce helped in balancing thedry powdery rub mouth feel. They tasted awesome though!! We paid for the extra shredded pork and it was a huge heapingportion. The banna pudding was great. Very clean tasting and no artificial flavors. If you like the artificial banana tastethen this is not for you. I can go either way, this is just a heads up. The yams were also very clean and slightly sweet. Avery refined dish, I like mine overly sweet, like a dessert, these were not. If you don't like them sweet then I stronglyrecommend you get these, they are awesome. The drink station was not great though. Not a lot of selection and in a veryawkward and inconvenient place. I wanted to try the agaua frescas, but they were empty. I asked the gentleman behind the counterif they would be refilled, he said yes, but we waited and it didn't happen. I then asked the lady who gave us our food and shesaid the same thing, but it never happened. We ordered a lot of food for two people, so we were their for 2.5 hours and no agauafrescas. I would recommend the drink station should be far from the cash register. It made the line confusing and awkward whenthe line for drinks and cash register morphed in to a traffic jam. This also made it confusing for people trying to access therestrooms, they had navigate between two crowds. Read more
Definitively a great restaurant. Their jerk chicken is delicious. It has a bit of a kick when you first taste it, juicy, and... delicious. Their fried chicken is great, got to try it. Their fries are seasoned with a curry flavor, and the mac & cheese wasdelicious, Everything was pleasant with our meal. The restaurant was very clean. It's not big, but comfortable enough. Read more
We really enjoyed our food and experience at the Jerk Shack. We had the jerk tacos (pork and chicken) plus the Mac and cheese... and banana pudding. The flavors were amazing and the sauces were very fun. I was surprised that it was chicken because the meatwas so very flavorful. My favorite sauce was the one with chili pepper flakes in it that was brought out with the tacos. The Macand cheese was great; the seasonings on top were unique and delicious. We also loved the banana pudding (like a layered bananacream pie in a cup) but were a bit blown away by its cost considering how inexpensive the ingredients are. All in all,delicious food. The price point is a little outside of our comfort zone (we shared a dish) but still appreciated everything weate. Read more
Me and my husband had lunch Monday 05/23 and it was amazing! The jerk chicken and mac & cheese were delicious! We loved it so... much we wanted to have it again 05/27 but this time have our kids try it. I regret it we spent 60 on food that was not the same.Just look at the difference of the macaroni it was watery and had a thick sticky consistency. I don?t know if they had someonedifferent cooking today but it was not worth what we paid. UPDATE 05/28/22 The GM reached out to me personally after seeing myreview. She did not ask me to change my review, but she took her time to reach out and make it right. That blew me away! Iappreciated that she took complete ownership of the problem & gave me a partial refund. That?s someone who definitely caresabout their customers & business. We will definitely be back! Read more
In honor of Black History Month my family only eat out at Black Owned Business. We selected Jerk Shack, it was definitely a... delight. Friendly staff, clean place with a award winning chef. The taste of the food is amazing!!! Walk into such a grand restaurant and feast your eyes on a joyful restaurant. Music is... pumping with the sound of soulful music. Prepare yourself by not eating and come hungry. Chicken melts in your mouth as itfalls off the bone. Spice is just right, spicy and sweet. Leave happy and full. Read more
