Biscuits and gravy were the best! Waffles are better than the pancakes. Country potatoes that came with tacos were tasty as... well. House blend coffee is a definite. Service and atmosphere were a plus to an already good breakfast. Good spot to takeout-of-towners for breakfast or brunch. Read more

Such a cool place! Lovely historic home and venue on the San Antonio river. Excellent for breakfast - food was delicious. ... OMG! The biscuits were huge! If you?re staying downtown, it?s about a mile walk via the river or a quick ride share to getthere. We rode there and walked the river back - lovely, quiet walk in the mornings. Go when they open or you will be waiting awhile - indoor and outdoor seating. Totally worth the wait, though! Read more

The plates are pretty. The location is nice and the food is good. For me, I?ve come over over the years and not much has... changed. There?s almost always a wait bit there?s lots to look at or you can walk around. We sat outside and it was comfortabledespite the heat. The club sandwich was good. Could have used more mayo but the turkey was fresh and the bacon crispy. Thebiscuits look insanely heavy and dense but they?re the exact opposite. They?re so light and fluffy. The chicken and waffle wasnice. Chicken batter does taste like it?s flavored and the waffle had a good texture. The service this time around was blah. Itwas whatever. Maybe he thought we wouldn?t leave a good tip or maybe he was tired but we seemed to be the table he was leastinterested in. Also the ?long? pour in a large OJ needs to be reassessed. A good three fingers at the top was empty. ???? Ihonestly don?t think I?d go back because there wasn?t enough to bring me back. It?s definitely a cute place to visit at leastonce. Read more

The place is really a blast from the past. Nice outdoor seating area. Inside the AC is amazing. The food was good, but not worth... the cost. It was just a basic breakfast that you can get in other places. The biscuits are almost like slices of cake. The gravywas good. Upstairs there was a shop and a small museum. Really interesting way to restore a house and repurpose it. Read more

Good food and customer service. Guenther House is my usual birthday breakfast brunch spot. It always delivers. The patio gives... it a nice touch and adds to the great atmosphere. Overall a nice breakfast place to go to. Seems hidden, but we?ll worth thesearch! Read more

The wait time always seems to be long but the grounds are beautiful and free coffee is offered while you wait. There is... cornhole to play as well and the restaurant will text you when you?re table is ready so you can leave and come back. There isboth indoor and outdoor seating. The temperature inside is quite cold. Several patrons left to go grab sweaters from theircars. I just ate fast because it was a little uncomfortable for me. The food was good. It?s not great but it is good andreasonably priced. I believe diners come here for the ambiance more than the food. The grounds are gorgeous and there is acharming gift shop to browse while you wait. The wait was very long-like an hour and a half and the hostess ditched halfway through so we were getting a little impatient.... But it was worth the wait. The breakfast quiche was the best quiche I?ve had and very unique. The house is gorgeous and was agreat pick-come to find out it?s a favorite local spot. I love how they have their recipes on their website too-I can?t wait totry them out! Must go if you?re in San Antonio. Read more

This place is amazing! It has absolutely gorgeous outdoor seating & the food is wonderful. We had the breakfast tacos & pancakes... - both of which were delicious! They even gave us real maple syrup which seems hard to come by in these times of maple flavoredcorn syrup! We also called in this morning to ask if they had cinnamon rolls & they did! It turned out to be like as big as myhead (which is pretty big - my head that is) AND it actually tasted really good & was cooked through properly!! I?d definitelyrecommend this place! Read more
