Reviews for Thai Hut Restaurant in San Antonio, TX
I hate to be negatively critical?but it is what it is. I ordered the Drunken Noodle. Every place, of course, has their own... style, but this was probably the farthest away from the norm as I have had. It was very heavy on the sauce, soaking in it. Iasked for MEDIUM heat. It was HOT?and I mean excessively hot for something called medium. I have a healthy tolerance for heat, but this was a bit extreme. Lastly, it had no basil?well, one piece?but for a dish that is based on basil, this was a fail.Oh?and the tomatoes were green and hard. I really wanted it to be good, but it wasn?t. I was just hot and bitter. Maybe I?ll tryagain?or maybe not. Read more
Go to for Good Thai food. Great lunch specials.
I've only ever ordered food to go, but its pretty good! My summer rolls are always filled with fresh ingredients and the peanut... dipping sauce is so flavorful. The chicken satay is good, but I do feel its missing a little flavor or kick, and the pad see yewis good, with huge portion sizes. I was able to share it with my daughter. Overall though the food is tasty and ingredientsfresh. I'll keep returning and ordering from here! The prices are fantastic for the serving sizes and fresh ingredients. Itsworth it to eat here. Loved the food! It was delicious , light and extremely flavorful! I got the mushroom sautée and hubby got drunken noodles! We... also got shrimp toast. Don?t get the shrimp toast , it was very very oily. My favorite item of all was the chicken on the stick, yum! We most certainly will clog back for another dinner night! Read more
Thai Hut was pretty good. I got the panang curry and it was good. I also had the Thai tea to drink and that was a tad bit too... sweet. The soup of the day was a rice soup, and it was okay. The space inside is good, but it does get pretty packed around thelunch hours. There's only one checkout spot to pay so that line can get long as well. All around its pretty good. Read more
I ordered two soups, the Tom Yum Talay and the Suki. Both were the worst soups I've ever had, and poor excuses for Thai... food. The Tom Yum did not have any lemongrass flavor, or much flavor at all for that matter. It tasted very sweet and watereddown. The scallops (there were 3) were tiny overcooked babies that tasted like they were nuked in the microwave. The crab meatwas tiny bits of very sweet and nasty imitation crab. The tomatoes tasted like literally nothing. There was barely any spice.Overall it was nauseating and I threw most of it away. The Suki soup came with a red sauce to be added to it. It smells andtastes like cheap hot sauce mixed with medical examining gloves (*vomit*). The soup by itself tasted bland and flavorless, butthe sauce utterly ruined it. The cabbage they used had black rotten spots on every piece. I threw this trash soup out aswell. $33 literally down the drain for terrible food from people who wouldn't know how to cook Thai if they got hit in the facewith free Thai cooking lessons from master chefs. I want my money back. Going to Tong's Thai like I should have done in thefirst place. Read more
