We visited Texas and went to this restaurant twice in 5 days. Thankfully we went when they weren't so busy between lunch/dinner,... but the service was great and the food was excellent. Yep, this is sorta Thai food. You know when you hear the name of a place and you don't want to judge it based on name alone but... you kinda sorta can't help it? This is that place. Tasty Thai has food that looks and mostly tastes like Thai food, but it's notquite right. The pad Thai is fairly bland but somewhat enjoyable. Each entree I tried needed sauce. Was my first time eating here. First I had a waiter who was new, was unfamiliar with anything on the menu. I had to give numbers... for the items. Then I was asked if I wanted chicken, beef or pork on beef salad.. The name of the item has the word "beef" init.. Then I was asked if I wanted large or small. I got up went to the counter and asked the manager at the time about large andsmall.. he said the waiter ordered the wrong item for me.. Tom Yum soup instead of Yum Nua. When my food came, my pad thai wasa huge portion, it had good flavor.. could have used more green onion, and bean sprouts, but was over all pretty good. Thepeanuts were a bit stale and chewy. I took my beef salad to go. Later that evening I opened the beef salad and discovered therewas no salad.. no lettuce, only beef in lime juice, with cilantro, green onion, and cucumber.. I did not see any red onion, andthere was no lettuce in the box. Not only that but many places serve it with steamed rice.. Compared to my pad thai this was asmall plate.. At first I thought maybe this was an odd version that didnt have lettuce, so I checked the photos of the menu. Itsays it contains lettuce on the menu.. so then I figured maybe they had put the lettuce it into another container and justforgot to put it in my bag, so I withheld this review until I had a chance to call them the next day. I called, got hold of thesame employee I had spoke with the night before while eating there. Told him about my beef salad not having any lettuce oronion. He said sometimes they do that.. despite the menu saying the item included lettuce. I told him the portion was muchsmaller.. to which he replied, it was a "salad" so it was smaller.. Beef salad is an entree, it shouldn't be smaller. I've nevereaten a beef salad that didnt have lettuce. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. My order was made quickly and was nice and hot. The pad... sa-si-ew was okay, but the portion was good. Could?ve used more (FRESH) veggies and meat, but the flavor was okay, and theyprovided me some hot sauce, so that also helped. The cheese rolls, however? were amazing.
