Portions were on the small side although quite tasty.

This is probably the worst fast food I've had in decades. We ordered a combination meal and a sourdough hamburger meal. Both... were stale older hamburger meat. The meat was maybe 2 oz for a double burger. It was a ridiculously minimal portion. Moreover, the bread was so greasy we could not finish either of the sandwiches. This was just absolutely a horrible meal. Thatsaid, I must reveal that this was a steak and shake at the San Antonio airport. Chicken is one of the 4 meal options but they tell me they don't sell chicken anymore here. She was quite annoyed when I asked... her to clarify. She even went to the grill person to vent about having to tell me twice. The manager should at least put up asign saying the chicken is not available. The next two people also tried ordering chicken. It's an OK burger, the meat is pretty good. There's not a lot of choices in the San Antonio airport. I don't particularly like... their fries. Read more

The 3 stars are for the wonderful fries. Service was mediocre and the burgers very low quality - don't be fooled by the nice... pictures. I probably should rate lower but hey I love good fries. Read more

Worst place in the airport. Credit card processing broken, they no longer serve half the things that are on their menu... (chicken), can't even give a small cup of water with food. Owner/Manager should be ashamed. Read more

Really disappointing that a place with "shakes" in the name only uses syrups and soft serve vanilla ice cream for shakes. Was... hoping for the chopped up strawberry and banana pieces in my shake but it was just a squirt. Of yellow and a squirt of red intosome ice cream. Read more

Love this place. Here at the airport location at least once a month. Not a huge deal, but our flight just cancelled and after... waiting in line for 5 minutes, the manager at this Steak and Shake told us they were closed, even though there was 5 minutesuntil close, and about six customers were still in line.
