I really love there donuts but getting really skimpy on the fillings. No good especially for the price.
Went there this morning, 2/27/22. The young lady behind the counter was condescending. I asked for regular milk. She said skim,... or whole? I don?t know it?s 5:30 in the morning. Regular is whole. But the condescending nodding of her head was a bit much.Then after I asked for the wrong ?filled bar? she says well that?s a different price. I did tell her to cancel the order andsaid that she was being rude. Just completely rude. This place would be alot better if they were to use fresh eggs in dough. And move there selection of donuts closer to view them.... You can't even see what your buying they are so far away . And these donuts are very expensive. And front desk lady is rude. Thetaste is there. But need fresh ingredients and bring the donuts closer to see them. Read more
Visit this this location is I was on this side of town for a meeting. I usually frequent the one on huebner close to USAA or... Wurzbach close to the colony. These particular donuts seemed overcooked to me and perhaps this is the way this location makesthem. But they had a notable crunch to them which again I've eaten a lot of Shipley's donuts in these seemed a bit overcookedand dried to me. But looking at the photos it's the exact same ones I got so again maybe it's a regional thing for this side oftown. The other thing is they didn't glaze a lot of their donuts. Which honestly was shocking to me. Got an assortment of donutsand a jelly donuts were not glazed. But everybody else seems to love it so maybe again it's a northeast side thing. Read more
Buy them when they are Hot. Right out of the oven. Usually drop in Shipley's around 0600 o'clock twice a week on the way... home from grocery shopping. Only drawback buying donuts/pastries so early is several of the more desirable items in chocolate line are not always available (Chocolate Fill, Chocolate Glaze, Devil Food). Opt for a Bear Claw, Butterflyglazed, Apple Fill, Bavarian Cream & regular glazed donuts. If you eat them immediately or during the day, they are thebest. Practically Melting in your hand. Wait until the next day, not as good. Dry. Getting hard. Not as pliableand with less flavor. Read more
First visit to Shipley donuts. Went in the early morning. No line and received fast and friendly service. The girl that helped... me with my order was very sweet. She even gave me suggestions on which donuts were their popular sellers. So with her suggestionI bought them. Haven't tried them yet, but the donuts I did try were very yummy. Will visit this donut shop again. Read more
Nice and clean. TOP KNOTCH donuts. Bear claws are outstanding and the staff is really nice.
