Reviews for Pho Nguyen Restaurant in San Antonio, TX
Tried take away and in-house dining. The take away was really good. Went in for the restaurant experience and was a bit... disappointed. All in all - Great broth in the Pho, best over 5 other Pho houses. They were very cheap on the veggies (basil andbean sprouts, not fresh) in-house but the service and management were very friendly. Have tried several Vietnamese restaurants in San Antonio and this place, by far, was the most expensive. $17 to $18 for simple... vermicelli bowls. And the portions were very modest. Taste of Asia on Bitters Rd (about 3 miles away) is nearly half the cost, delicious, and portions are larger. Will not be back to Pho Nguyen. Read more
Quality of the food was low-average but somehow very overpriced. I was very disappointed with my meal since I paid $18 for my... vermicelli with pork and shrimp. Especially when the char-grilled pork was very dry and the shrimps were over cooked. They alsoskimp out on the vegetables for the vermicelli bowls. The banh mi was mostly bread for $9. Egg rolls are small and were 4 for$9. Read more
Impressive prices, easily 30% higher than any other pho spot. 29$ total for what's in the pictures. The atmosphere is great. ... The people are cool. Read more
This is by far my favorite vietnamese restaurant in San Antonio. My wife and I have been coming for years. The #14 is my go to,... along with pork spring rolls and fried tofu. Anyone with a cultural background will have high praises for this place. If you'reconcerned about the prices, you probably shouldn't be eating out. Highly recommend ???????? Read more
I came here once before and thought maybe they had a bad day. I decided to give this place another try and found out that it?s... it was not a fluke. This place charges 14 for a basic pho and than gets you by adding another 7 if you want extra meat. They arevery stingy with the rare steak and provide very little. The lemonade costs 7 and the tiny little egg rolls that are smallerthan a chicken nugget cost 7. I was very disappointed and will never recommend this place to anyone. Read more
My first visit to Pho Nguyen and I was not disappointed. It was quiet on an early Saturday afternoon. Beautifully painted and... decorated and so calm. I was between clients and needed to grab something quick so I selected the Banh Mi Thit Nuong - SeasonedPork with veggies. The veggies were so crisp and fresh. The baguette was wonderfully toasted and the seasoned butter is whatmade the sandwich so, so good. I?m looking forward back to returning when I have more time to relax and sample more traditionalmenu items. Read more
Waited too long to try this place out. Definitely enjoyed the pho and spring rolls. It's a little expensive but in my opinion... it's worth it for the quality. For good pho in Stone Oak I'd recommend this place. Read more
