Reviews for Noodle Tree in San Antonio, TX
Fun place, dining area was nice, restroom were decorated with Marvel characters all over the walls. Some cool arcade games in a... game area between the restroom and dining area. The soup was flavorful, I really enjoyed it. I bloated up from the sodium butthat might have just been me due to being on a diet the last year. Still tasted great though and look forward to visiting againsoon. Read more
Delicious and affordable! My go to are the Birria Bao Buns and the Kimchi Ramen(make it spicy ????). Their edamame is seasoned... to perfection. I recommend that you call ahead because their hours change and it's BYOB (I kinda low key LOVE that). Read more
Ok listen... this place is freaking cool! Like I started my review before even getting my food. Atmosphere = 10 stars! Love the... comic book art work, especially on the walls in the mens bathroom. Staff= 10stars. They clearly articulated their process ofordering, service, and paying all when we were greeted. Made things super easy. Food=20stars.... yes 20 stars.... I loooooooveRamen and have been to many of the local Ramen restaurants... this Ramen is epic! Like Thor sending a lightning bolt epic! Stopreading, get in your car, and come here NOW! Read more
One of the best ramen i have eaten, the broth was tasty and the egg delicious. Friendly staff.
The Ramen was okay. It wasn't very authentic but I don't need authenticity for it to be great. I would say the noodles in the... three soups I tried were aldente meaning a little more firm than I was expecting. The peas in my soup weren't cooked well and Idon't know if it was intentional or not, it was still good just not great much like the total experience. I don't know why itwas rated so high, perhaps it is because the store is located in the college area of San Antonio and college age kids are ratingit because they have on average a more limited experience or maybe I don't know what I am talking about and this is the bestRamen ever. I'm am leaning toward my first hypothesis. I will say that the 6 minute egg, as they call it, was incredible andprobably made this a three star review instead of two. Also they charged .75 cents to make the soup spicy, I can't recall beingcharged to make something hotter, that didn't sit well. Anyway, the soup was fine but I don't think i will make the driveagain. ***Edit*** I always find it interesting why an owner leaves a rude comment to an honest review. I wasn't trying to bemean just giving my impression of the restaurant. A good owner would take the criticism and use it constructively. Just to befair, I will take the part out of my review about living in Japan as I can see why living in a country that is world famous fortheir Ramen may not provide me with any extra insight but I am docking a star for poor customer experience. I also may have gonea bit too far about not making the drive out there again because I may, there seemed to be a really good authentic asianrestaurant next door I want to try. Read more
Service and presentation of food was great! Kimchi ramen was interesting. Not the authentic Korean kimchi, however it was not... bad. Pulled pork bao bun and karage appetizers were delicious. Read more
Overall this place surprised me on how good it was. To do a review I normally like to order several things to do a proper... review. Below we have birria bao, pulled pork bao, truffle noodles and chicken curry Ramen. Between the two bao I highlyrecommend the pulled pork. Between the two it was filled with flavor and the meat was fall apart. The birria was a let down. Oneit took alot longer to get and two the flavor wasn't really there. The cheese was melted but the consomme (side sauce) didn'tstick well with the bao bun. The chicken curry ramen was amazing! Such great flavors. Highly recommend. The truffle noodles wasalso delicious but on the dry side. So if you want a soup get the chicken curry if you want a dry noodle dish the trufflenoodles were delicious. They have a high heat level and we got a 3 and 4. For a 4 you can get away with the Ramen being not tospicy with the perfect amount of heat to not ruin the flavor but the 3 on the noodles was spicy, where if your not a huge fan ofheat I wouldn't recommend it. It's delicious at first but ends up being quite spicy after awhile for my fiance. I loved both butI also love alot of heat. Definitely try this place! In case you're wondering why I gave it a 4 out of 5 rather then a 5 wasthat almost half the menu was not available. They stated they were out of ingredients and to me its important to have all menuitems available. You have a limited selection which makes it hard for people who are trying this for the first time but overallgreat food. Read more
