Reviews for Las Palapas - Leon Springs in San Antonio, TX
I consider LP fast food, that being said, I find their strength is in the drive thru. When you go inside and eat it's definitely... a mixed bag as far as service goes. On this last visit we were served fairly quickly with chips and the tiniest bowl of salsa.Food came in good time but no tortilla were brought with the plate. I asked if they were included and the server said "oh do youwant some?" Yeah, we do because that's standard. I like that they give 3 enchiladas on their plate. The cheese enchiladas had atasty gravy but the cheddar inside was not completely melted. This is a common thing at this location not sure about the otherplaces. The rice and beans are great. I appreciate their throwback specials as well but I am coming here less and less becauseit's the same issues every time. Read more
Never going back! Horrible customer service and low value of what you get for your money.. I ordered an Avocado/egg and a... bacon/egg taco. One tiny slice of avocado. No salsa in bag. Tortillas where cold. Young girl in drive through did not even lookat me. And I gave a tip.. The last Three times I have eaten here Ive been disappointed.. They used to run such a good business..what a shame.. Ill take my business to Brenda's by blossom stadium. Much better prices, better service and better tacos.. Read more
Las Palapas used to be a household favorite for us for years but sadly this has changed. We have had experiences of poorer... quality food and service that have grown to outnumber our good experiences. We are very sad to say that we will no longer bereturning. Tonight’s takeout example was an unfortunate experience of food that went straight in the trash when we got home.We ordered tacos, nachos, and chips and queso. The “queso” is pictured below. I have never in my life experiences such apoor testament to queso. Our order was wrong, which has become a common occurrence and our food did not taste appetizing and wewere concerned for our health to consume. What a disappointment. We will miss the old Las palapas. Read more
Food is good and reasonably priced. I go here almost everyday so I love the food. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is... because they ask for tips in the drive thru. They have a tip jar and sometimes they give you the receipt to sign (the one youget when you dine in). My friends and family think it’s weird to tip drive thru employees for doing their job. Las Palapasneeds to pay their employees more so they’re not asking the customer for tips in the drive thru. Read more
If you're in the mood for Mexican food, may I suggest going to Eddie's Taco House instead? If you can't be dissuaded because of... the 4.2 star rating Las Palapas currently has (likely due to all of the other locations around town) then be prepared to waitupwards of 30 minutes if you go through their drive thru that traps you there once you enter. The food is usually good, butoften is not accurate to what was ordered. We ordered no tomatoes on our crispy taco but still received them. The plates we gotshould have come with tortillas as well, but did not and the soda tasted like it needed to be changed. Of course the food istied up in a bag so that you cannot check until you get home with it. Additionally they were out of straws when I visited so Ididn't even know the sodas were bad. Since so many things were wrong with the order we decided to call and complain. Theemployee that answered the phone got the manager who then dictated through that employee that they would give us a 20% discounton our next visit (not very likely) and then they could "fix the issues with our order then", what ever that means. Since ittook so long to get my food in the drive thru, they were closing shortly after we called, so they couldn't do anything for usthen. Needless to say, this is probably the last time we'll be visiting this restaurant. Read more

The food at this location is really good. I got the soup combo which came with half stuffed avocado and tortilla soup. It was so... good. My husband got the Palapa special (2 cheese enchiladas and beef fajitas, rice and beans and flour tortillas) and heenjoyed it. The kids enchilada meal was just the right portion for my son. Read more
Good food and friendly staff. Atmosphere is understated and a little sterile. Had a few Halloween decorations. The pic is of my... "El Carbon" salad from the "seniors" portion of the menu. Pretty tasty and good portion for $7.95. Will order again. Thanks! Read more
