This was our first visit to a Jim's and it was just okay. We got the award winning chicken tortilla soup and it was bland with... no heat and no flavor of any kind. The hash browns on the other hand were really good, you can taste the fresh peeled potatodifference. We will try one more time to make sure it wasn't just the shift. Read more
This place is incredible. The service is always amazing no matter which one I have gone to. I'm on the mediterranean diet and... have ordered the protein bowl on several different occasions and have it with the salmon so I can get my omega fatty acids. I amin love with the ancient grains and veggies in the dish. It is reasonably priced and I definitely get it with the add onavocado. Read more
Terrible service. Food was good/decent. The server NEVER checked on us after he brought us our food. No tea refills either. ... He was more concerned about filling up glasses of water at the server station. The irony of it all is we were seated not morethan 4 feet from the server station. Well, well, well, very disappointed with this place. I came in and was told to sit wherever I wanted and asked for coffee for a... drink. Got my water, but no coffee, and the waitress never returned to take my order. After al long wait, this traveler decidedthat it was about to leave since the people that arrived 30 minutes later just got their meal. I should have went, next door, tothe Cracker Barrel, instead. The woman that greeted/seated us was great. Very attentive and polite. Our waiter on the other hand, stunk. We had to ask 3... times for condiments before he brought them and never once came to the table and asked if we needed anything and never refilledour drinks. No tip for him. Read more
I ordered the eggs benedict and they were SO good. The toast was buttered to perfection and the hasbrowns looked and tasted real... good too. My boyfriend even says this is better than chops & eggs. Best breakfast I've ever had a restaurant so far. Highlyrecommend this place. Read more
Because Jim's has earned it's place in our hearts as a place to enjoy good food and hospitality, I want to give praise to it's... staff and management. I do however want to suggest a well needed remodeling. This ceiling tiles are disgusting to look at andthe carpet Looks like it has seen more traffic than grand central station. Nevertheless the food was delicious and served hot. Still highly recommend. (3 months later edit:) still needs updated ceiling tiles and carpet, but wanted to give kudos to ourwaiter Christopher. He may have been the manager by his dress, but he was exceptionally courteous and friendly. Read more
Clean, fast, southern charm at an everyday price ?? Service should put on a clinic ???? A home grown Jim's has always been a... staple of the San Antonio experience in my opinion, and this location felt like home. The service, the food, and the old brickdiner embodied comfort and hospitality the way only a worn smooth booth and a hot cup of coffee can deliver. A fine slice oflife ???? Thank you all so much.
