My girlfriend turned me onto this place 3 yrs ago… I brought my brother and his wife last year, and now it’s our... favorite?? The service- outstanding Always! I’ve come for lunch, brunch, dinner, drinks… it’s brilliant! The food-thefood… you know when you leave a place and you’ve just finished eating and you get in your car and go home…. Well, Ipromise that from the first moment this food hits your taste buds until you finish- you will savor every morsel and revel inevery bite- yep, ITS THAT GOOD! When you leave here you won’t be able to stop saying, “That food was soooo good!” It’samazing that everything we order here is super! Last night we had the Brussels sprouts- you’ve had ‘em… but these areelevated!! The sauce is divine - kind of a Thai chili deal but better! Then there were the Oysters Casino- good gravy- my eyesrolled back in my head- lightly cooked and topped with bacon????????????????????????????yes, bacon!! Every bite melted in mymouth! Then the calamari siting on a bed of noodles… the sauce !! The sauce!! Slightly tangy - not your run of the millmarinara - then the beautiful sautéed spinach with garlic - it’s what I remembered most about Florence and theirs brought meright back to the Altra Arno! Then the Trout! Lightly season and grilled so it had a lovely crust and moist and tenderinside??????so good! The Calamari & the sprouts and the spinach were large enough to share between 4 ppl! The bartender at thebar makes a mean dirty, dry martini! & she’s the one who suggested the Oysters Casino for which we will be forever grateful! My brother ordered the chops and they were gorgeous little pork pops! To keep saying the food was “good” is too little, thefood is out of this world every time we come here! Come here with the intent of staying to enjoy and savor! And it’s notbecause the food comes out late it’s because you deserve to enjoy this experience because it’s not everyday you get foodthis good so when you do , slow down and take it in! We Read more

Enjoyed dinner at Frederick's as all the food was delicious (favorite dish was probably the calamari). Ambiance was ok/average,... service was very attentive but not particularly friendly. Prices are a little high but not egregious. Would consider returningbut lots of other great options in the San Antonio area. Read more

Absolutely LOVE this establishment! Amazing food and great service! The staff is incredible; so welcoming and absolutely... amazing! I was blown away by the attentiveness, especially during a time where service industry professionals are undervaluedand unappreciated. 20% is the average recommended tip for any establish for today's day and age, will always give above andbeyond to this brilliant team! Overall 100/100, would absolutely recommend for any occasion! From the food to the staff and theoverall experience of the Fredrick's family, mind blown! Read more

Our second time at this bistro. It is nice but please teach your servers to present the bill with the detail on what is being... charged. The older gentleman doesn’t know how to use the card machine and only shows you the total amount, not what you arebeing charged. All else is good. Read more

I come to SA from Houston once a week and discovered Frederick's just last night. It will be where I eat when I'm here every... time. The menu is very well thought out and executed perfectly. I've never had escargot prepared the way it is here, and am nowruined. I just won't order it anywhere else. I sat at the bar, which was packed with what are clearly regulars with discerningpalettes. It was a lively and humorous atmosphere, with the owner, Frederick, smack dab everywhere, inspecting what he expects.I can't praise this place enough. Go. Just go. See and taste for yourself. Always a great meal here. Wait staff tends to look busy but never busy with your table. We have to ask for water refills and... they are very skimpy with providing bread and butter for the table. Prices have gone up since the last we were there a year ago. They had a mediocre wine selection. I wanted a glass of the Cakebread Chardonnay but I had to buy the bottle and it was only Idrinking wine. Calamari appetizer is the best in town in my opinion. Large strips of lightly breaded calamari sits on a bed ofasian style noodles with a sweet and sour sauce. All their desserts are wonderful also. Read more
