Just tried this place for the first time. Black owned business and a really nice family at that. We appreciated the service so... much. Great music and apparently starting at the beginning of 2023, there will be live music some days out of the week. Theyhave an awesome Sunday menu and I got to try gator for the first time and that was delicious and I don?t even like fried foodlike that. The gumbo is some of the best restaurant gumbo I?ve had. Collard green were pretty good although I might suggest alittle less salt, but I?m not complaining because most places don?t use enough seasoning. Lemon pepper wings had greatseasoning, but could come out the fryer a bit sooner so it?s not so dry. And the catfish plate came with a ridiculous amount offood. Overall, this place is pretty awesome and we will be back!! Read more

This place never disappoints. The food is awesome, and the vibe on Sundays after church are chill. A family friendly place, yet... cool enough for a relaxed date night. Ms Tare's red beans and rice will have you feeling like you are in the French Quarters ofNew Orleans. The made from scratch banana pudding, will have you coming back for more. You will not be disappointed, in any ofthe food selections!!! Read more

Under new management! OMG! This place is special! The ambiance/decor of this gem reminded me of an episode of Restaurant... Impossible, the before and after. They now have a new full bar, stage for music (DJ today), and nice decor. I was greetedimmediately. The staff was awesome, the service amazing, and I was asked by the owners and staff members if I needed anything. Ionly went there because my sister went there this week and told me I should try it again. I went there several times before thenew owners took over. My server was great. I was feeling a little under the weather so I wasn't very hungry. My sister told methey loved the gumbo so that's what I had. It was pretty awesome, but spicier than I expected, which is fine by me because thespicier the better as far as I'm concerned. So I ordered a cornbread to offset the heat. The cornbread was moist and just sweetenough. I loved it. The owner asked if I needed anything and I commented on how good the cornbread was. He said his wife makesit. They're having a grand reopening on the 27th with free tasting, free champagne, and drink specials. On the 28th is SoulFood Sunday with $4 mimosas and bloody mary's. I will definitely return for the grand reopening. Read more

2 Fish portion too small, over breaded and greasy. Shrimp over breaded also but not greasy. Fries alright. This was a Lunch... Special for $7.99 just because of the price they get a star and it was a clean restaurant so that is the reason for 2nd star. Iwon't return here. Read more
