Minus the detours and construction in this area, the BBQ is definitely worth it! Loved the service here - the men in the back... were awesome and extremely friendly. The brisket was flavorful and paired very well with the creamed corn. So glad Augie?s isone of the few BBQ places in San Antonio that actually has creamed corn on their menu! Delicious BBQ. We tried their brisket, sausage, jalapeño sausage, and pork ribs. Overall, everything was tasty. The personnel... were attentive and welcoming. They had some issues with the AC but with the current summer heat it?s totally understandable. Wehad our meal at their bar next door and grabbed a couple cold beers to freshen up. Stopped here on our way from the Alamo on a recommendation from a local. So glad we found it amidst the road closure and fencing... in front of the main entrance. Food was delicious! First time visitor. Loved it! Had the 2 meat plate, brisket & sausage, with 2 sides, couldn't finish it! The brisket had... awesome flavor, not at all dry, sauce was tangy but not overwhelmingly sweet. Sausage was cooked to perfection. Loved mycreamed corn & cole slaw. ???? And my frozen mango margaritas was super delicious! and after just a few sips, I had a good buzzbefore I even made it to our table. It's a pretty good place. I liked the chill atmosphere, the strong drinks and most of all the tasty bbq. I can't believe I... never been here before. It's a pretty big spot and it's down town. Doesn't have the downtown price like Pinkerton's. They havecombo plates and happy hour. Have steaks , burgers and salads in addition to the normal BBQ items. Even though there is some road construction and detours it?s worth it. I love the community give back Augie?s has going on!... Everyone in our party enjoyed there food. A great BBQ joint. Their staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I've definitely increased my visits since the pandemic. The... chili cheese Frito burger is one of my favorites.
