I took my neighbor for her birthday. Neither of had been before and we had an FANTASTIC time!! The owners were incredible! We... were treated to a beautiful hula dance, where the owner's mother who is in her 80s danced so gracefully & perfectly it broughttears to our eyes! She danced hula to Don Ho's "Tiny Bubbles" while her daughter, the co-owner blew bubbles that delicatelyfloated around the restraunt. At the time, there was one other patron, a gentleman who regularly drives 7 hours just to eat atAloha Kitchen! He even bought my friend a traditional flower Lei for her birthday, which are sold at the restraunt and made mythe grandmother (the magical hula dancer!) And the food!? OUTSTANDING!! Everything we ordered was delicious beyond belief! It'sthe real deal!! Amaz experience by all accounts! We entered as strangers and left feeling like family. ???? THANK YOU!! Can'twait to come back soon! Mahalo! ???? ???????? Read more

Aloha Kitchen was wonderful! The family that owns it was so nice and welcoming. It was our first time having Hawaiian food and... they helped explain and answer any questions we had about the menu. We even learned a little about the food and culture, whichwas so great! Hoping to get to San Antonio for their Aloha festival in June. I very much recommend that you try this place fortheir food, their friendliness and just a wonderful experience over all! Read more

Aloha Kitchen is the hidden gem for Island cuisine here in San Antonio. NEW FRIDAY HRS: They have extended their hours on... Friday's! Now open from 11am-8pm... (still recommend calling to be sure) From the moment you walk into this little "Hole inthe Wall Cafe" it's easy to imagine you have walked into a little neighborhood Cafe in Maui or on the North shore... You aregreeted by owner or family and invited to find your own table... The cafe may be packed if you hit a day when all the islandersfrom Ft Sam decided they want Hawaiian home-cooking! If you don't know what POG is, just ask and enjoy one of the favoritebeverages from the islands. (Pineapple, Orange, Guava juice). Take your time to read the menu and ask the server to explainthe different dishes, if you aren't familiar with Island favorites menu. For an hour or so, you are back in the islands. Foran escape from the typical, put Aloha Kitchen on your must go to list Read more

I visited Aloha Kitchen today for the first time. For my first visit I ordered the Kalbi plate with cucumber kimchi, mac salad... and sticky rice. I also had the pot sticker appetizer. The serving size of the Kalbi was great, nice thick cuts of meat, charred on the edges, cooked medium well inside, and a rather large portion. They left the strips of fat on the edges of themeat which is what gives it a lot of flavor, theres nothing worse than lean kalbi. The portion and price of this item beat allof the other local Korean and Hawaiin restaurants. The cucumber kimchi was spicy and fresh, not overly caked with pepper likemany places, the mac salad was good as well, but a bit plain for my taste. The meal as a whole was excellent. Service here wasgood as well, the entire staff was friendly and talkative, going table to table to check on customers. The menu has a nicevariety of items, all priced more affordably than other restaurants. A nice mixture of cultural foods blended hawaiin style. Iwill definitely be visiting again to try some more items. Its a shame they are only open for lunch. If you cant make lunch theyare open late on Fridays, so give this place a try. Its definitely a must try. Read more
