First time trying Cajun food. I enjoyed it but it didn?t blew me away. Tried the catfish lunch plate, which included two sides.... I went with the chicken n dumplings and the Cajun cabbage. The catfish portion was small, but overall tasted pretty good. It wasa bit dry tho, not sure if that?s the usual Cajun cuisine or just this plate. Same goes for the sides, small, but pretty goodoverall. The meal is definitely heavy tho. If you are not used to heavy/fried food then this will definitely give your stomacha go haha. Read more
Absolutely well worth the price very clean the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. The food was great and... well worth the price. They have a full bar too. They had live music that was fun and nice to listen to . All together I enjoyedmy date with my husband. The food , staff , and restaurant was fantastic! The only down side is there's no delivery . But otherthen not being able to order food for delivery which is kind of a bummer but still definitely is my FAVORITE restaurant! Read more
This is some of the best homestyle food in San Antonio. This is Cajun food with some down home cooking but with a spice level... for most people's palate. Been in business for 30+years! Order takeout or dine in and enjoy something special and unique. Thestaff was friendly, restaurant was clean and prices were not too bad. Fruit punch for kids/adults is a must! Catfish istopnotch! Many items to choose from but recommend a sample platter if you can't decide. Read more
Authentic Cajun Fare! I have a lot of cajun friends & have had many home cooked Cajun meals and Acadian Cafe is as homemade as... my cajun friends prepare! The coating for the fried catfish & shrimp is so light,crispy & coating adheres to the fish! The homecooked sided are yummy good for the soul southern style! Very personable & attentive staff! This is probably the best canjun restaurant I've been to in a while. The food was very tasty and brought to me fresh and hot. I... had the canjun sampler that comes with gumbo, crawfish etoufette, jambalaya, and red beans with rice. I also had the breadpudding for dessert. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and gave great suggestions for our table. I have tosuggest the lemonade. You can taste the fresh squeezed lemons. Acadiana is always a crowd pleaser. Whether we are dining with our small family or our larger extended family, it is always a... hit. There is an ample waiting area and plenty of seating. If you choose to do take-out, their drive up service is quick andefficient. Acadiana now has a full bar but their star is still their food. There are plenty of shareable appetizers such asCajun nachos and alligator nuggets. They offer fried and grilled versions of several fish dishes, as well as vegetarianoptions. Their catfish is absolutely delicious but they also have great Cajun dishes such as red beans and rice, étouffee,gumbo and andouille sausage. Their cornbread is the best in town (in my opinion) and their hush puppies are nothing to shake astick at. Second only to the great food is the amazing service. We have NEVER had bad service, regardless of the day of theweek, time of the day or the size of our party. The wait staff is always pleasant and helpful. Pre-COVID they served boudainand baked potatoes but those are no longer on the menu. Even with that, we still think they are an amazing restaurant andhighly recommend - five stars!! Read more
The food here is made from scratch, the food was delicious! We went around 4:30 pm it was pretty empty when we got there by the... by the time we left at close to six there was a line out the door! The prices are affordable not to high, our waitress wasattentive and friendly if your looking for great sea food like catfish this is the place, they have great sea food here,they also have good tender strips, mash potatoes and green beans and biscuits and corn bread and mud pie, and warm peach cobbler with ice cream, are you hungry yet? ????????????????????????They also have alligator strips. This place is always great! Service is always superior! Had the fish, shrimp, fried oysters. Appetizers were the gator bites and... the fried mushrooms everything was perfect. One of the four pieces of whitefish had bones. The only reason my rating wasn'tperfect. The cornbread yesterday was dry and the bones in the fish. This restaurant is always clean and spacious.
