First experience at a Hibachi grill. Arrived on a Thursday evening when most tables with a grill were open. The lady at the... front asked where we would like to sit, and upon asking for a corner seat near a grill, she sat us at a booth in the middlewithout one... I asked the server if we would get the cooking experience in front of a grill, and she flat out said no, but thefood is the same. I went back to ask the lady at the front about sitting in front of a grill and the staff did so. However, weend up waiting considerably long for a chef as people who arrived after us were seated at open grills. We asked about the waitand our new server made the remark,"the Chef has to remake your food" The food was good but the Chef was very unentertainig. Iwas given raw salmon with the comments, "mmm juicy" from the Chef..... There was a thick layer of grease and smudge above allgrills. The bathrooms smell horrendously. The meal was over 100 for 4 people.... Out of all reviews I have, this is sadly theonly one written negatively. This place was appaling in so many levels. Read more

Staff were well knowledgeable about items available on the menu. They provided very professional, responsible, helpful, and... friendly services. The owner/owners and supervisor/supervisors should be very proud to have them as part of a team at a greatrestaurant. It was a great experience. See you all soon! Read more

I ate here with my daughter and her family for lunch a while ago when I was visiting and lived it. We went there for dinner this... time. As we sat around the hot grill watching our meal being prepared, we were very entertained by our chef. Portions arelarge. Plan on leftovers for another meal. The prices for a meal of this kind were extremely reasonable. Thank you! Read more

I had a sushi dish that was good, but that's where it ends being good.I got the teriyaki plate, but the chicken was dry and over... cooked, and it had bits of blackened bits. The rice was not good, and the veggies were limp, or crunchy depending on old or new.Not going back for anything other than the sushi. Read more

Absolutely sucked! Food was meh, waitstaff were un-atentive, felt like there was something going on behind the scenes, the... bathroom was filthy and the plumbing stopped up. Will never spend a dime there again. Pricey too for lunch 3 people 60 bucks forhorrible atmosphere. Read more

The food was great! However, the experience not so much. We?ve been to many hibachi restaurants and usually have a great time.... We took our son here for his first one. The chef did not do any tricks whatsoever besides throwing egg into our mouths. We keptwaiting for more things to happen but he literally just cooked and left. He didn?t spin any spatulas or even try. It was a verydisappointing experience that we have been looking forward too. When he asked if there was anything else he could do for us, Ijokingly asked if he had a train whistle (to at least do SOMETHING) he did not. The only reason I?m giving this place 2 stars isbecause the food was excellent. Read more

Great food! The dinner filet mignon and shrimp was great! Had a party of 12 on Sunday afternoon before the church rush. We all... enjoyed our food, atmosphere, and the cook very much. I guess the 4 star is because our waitress was lacking experience. Wewaited for our drinks that took a while. I order from the bar a round of warm sake that took 20 min to arrive. We could tell shewas new. Will be back again. Read more

There are a few Hibachi grill place in San Angelo, among them Bonsai is the best. it's cheaper during lunch hour, but the... portion is not usual "lunch portion". Taste is satisfying, you may see some fire shows depending on who's your shef today is.They do special prices for certain menus sometimes as well, this is one of 'must-go' place for lunch. For weekend dinner, yousee waiting as well. Service is somewhat slow, they tend to wait till at least half of the hibachi table is full. So dependingon number of your companies or other customers, you may wait quite a lot as well. Spare some minutes when you visitBonsai. However, the food is cooked in front of you very fresh, sometimes it is quite salty but most of the time it is verynicely cooked. Roles are a little bit pricey but nice too. Read more
