We decided to try this place for the first time with family visiting from out of town based on the menu options and location. We... had two kids (7 & 9) in the party so their kids menu options were a plus. When we arrived around 530 PM on a Sunday it was notvery busy and we were promptly seated. The waitress was attentive all the way up until our food was delivered which is where theproblems began. Two of our meals involved deep fried items (adult Fish & Chips and kids Chicken Tenders). Both visibly spenttoo long in the fryer resulting in charred/severely dried out food. Two other meals were variations of grilled cheese (one kids, one adult - Fried Grilled Cheese). Both looked under-cooked, little/no visible browning on the displayed side. When turned over, both were exceptionally burnt. Unfortunately, none of these issues were noticed until after our waitress had already departed. It was over 20 minutes before she returned to check on us. By that time we had decided to consume the edible portions of ourmeals and only ended up requesting a replacement for the kids grilled cheese. The waitress apologized (really there was no wayfor her to know about the grilled cheese problems as they appeared to be deliberately hidden by the kitchen staff), advised theywere "training a new cook", and offered to replace the kids grilled cheese and remove it from our tab. About 10 minutes later,an under-cooked adult fried grilled cheese was delivered. Instead of waiting to verify everything was OK, she immediatelydeparted after dropping the item off which once again was prior to us discovering the problem. The fried grilled cheese comeswith a peppercorn aioli which our nephew tried but did not like. By this point we were incredibly frustrated. After waitinganother 10+ minutes for our waitress to return I finally went in search of her to explain they had delivered the wrongreplacement item and all we wanted at that point was to have our checks so we could pay and leave. A group of 6 of us decided to try this quaint tavern for a Sunday dinner. We were very disappointed. My 7 year old ordered a... grilled cheese. When it came to the table it looked barely toasted. We turned it over and it was very burnt. We asked for a newone. Our server apologized and brought a new one. The new one was barely toasted on both sides and we were given the wronggrilled cheese. This one was the adult grilled cheese with pepper aoli. My husband had ordered the adult grilled cheese and oneside of that was burnt as well. So bummed, my son wouldn't eat his new grilled cheese and our waitress never stopped back by. Wehad to find her for our bill. Another problem with the food was the fish and chicken tenders were over fried. Hard and chewy. Mysister in-law and I each had a salad. The salads were great. We finally received our bill and the kids grilled cheese was takenoff of it, but I ordered a diet Coke, it came in a can, and i was charged $3.50. Wow!!! That is crazy!!! Really bummed how badour first visit turned out! Read more

Unfortunately I have to reduce my rating on Trestle. The burgers are preprepared meat disks and the salads are also prepared... from canned products and package lettuce. Possibly money saving efforts that just aren’t measuring up :(. Read more

Great Beer selection and a cool, pleasant, quiet outdoor dining atmosphere. I had the Rockfish Curry and it was excellent. Fsh... can often be over cooked in a curry, but what I had was tender, flaky, and perfectly executed. The wait staff was just the rightkind of attentive. After we finished our meal we were encouraged to sit, relax, and continue our conversation. We never feltpressured to move along. I look forward to dining hear again. Read more

Reliably great place. There is a nice range of appetizers and entrees. They do a great job of evolving their menu and adding new... items. Some more affordable (like the tavern burger $25). I love the beer selection here as well. Oh! AND GET THE FRIES. Read more
