Best nachos in Salt Lake City! Great atmosphere, great staff, great drinks! We had the Lake Effect Sour and Water Tiger... cocktails. Water Tiger had more smoky flavor than I like, but that?s personal preference. Lake Effect Sour was fantastic! Andseriously those nachos are incredible?and huge, so bring friends to share! I got the black tea brined pork chop with wild mushroom and mashed potato. Tasted absolutely delicious. Also go one of their... house special cocktails which I enjoyed. Prices were extremely fair for the quality of the service, extensive liquor library andgreat food/drinks. Would recommend stopping by this place. Read more
My wife and i came here for a double date snd enjoyed it. The ambiance is really nice! If you like taking pictures on nice seats... , you?ll find a few opportunities for that. The food was delicious!!! It came out all together , hot and fresh! I did order anappetizer and an entree and they both came out together. If want the appetizer first I?d recommend you to specify. We got thenachos, avocado tacos, fried pickles and a charcuterie board. We happen to be there while it shifted to a nightlife and it wasfun. Been here twice and loved it each time. Tin can nachos are amazing and honestly enough for 3-4 people to share as a meal. Tacos... have been great?the Parmesan fries are absolutely delicious. Wife really enjoyed the charcuterie board. Amazing selection ofdrink. The PB&G is a must to try. Read more

Went to Lake Effect for our 24th anniversary and really enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere. They have a huge selection of... cocktails, but I just left my drink choice up to our server and he didn't disappoint. The food is excellent! We had thecheese board, pork chop, and steak tacos. Later we had the tin can nachos. Everything was delicious. I enjoy the live music. I made a reservation online and noted I wanted a booth near the stage and that is exactly what we got. Perfect!! We went to Lake Effect after hearing lots of good things about the food and we were disappointed. The building and location is... very cool. Lots of nooks to hang out in with really cool chairs. The menu is vast and the drink menu has more options than youcould imagine (I guess that's a benefit to being a bar). They have lots of tapas options as well as main dishes. We ordered thequeso. While the presentation was neat (they lit it on fire) there was very little taste. I'd go as far to say that it wasalmost flavorless. I ordered the steak burrito and it was all right but for $18 I expected more. There are local places thathave steak burritos for half the cost. The fish tacos were okay too but left much to be desired. Our waiter was average. Hedidn't know much about the drink menu which was kind of concerning, especially when you ask about their specialties. Lake Effecthas live music every single night. Would we come back? Maybe, but it wouldn't be for the food. There are better options in thisprice range. Read more
