Prior to Hruska's, I had no idea what a kolache was. Now my life has improved significantly. The best way I can describe a... kolache is a breakfast bun stuffed with all sorts of good stuff. We ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese, sausage and gravy,sausage, cheese, and jalapeno, raspberry, and strawberry kolache. None disappointed. The jalapeno was so good. Great flavor withvery little kick. The raspberry and strawberry kolaches were very good as well but on the sweeter side (think more of adessert). I have a rule where I don't order stuff biscuits and gravy at breakfast places because my wife's family is from thesouth and has that meal mastered. However, my wife ordered it and it was very good (one of the best attempts in the state). Beprepared to wait in line and the daily specials sell out quickly. It's a small place with some seating in the back on a patiobut I'd plan on taking the kolaches home with you. They're open at 6:30 and close when everything is sold out for the day. Thebuns are around $3 each and they are filling. I think most people would be satisfied with one but I always order two (they're sogood)! We'll definitely be back to this place. Read more
First time visiting this place. The place is pretty small located in a corner of a shopping strip. Has some pretty cool interior... decoration. Got the bacon, egg and cheese Kolaches that was really good also got the sweet version of the mixed berry kolachewith raspberries and blueberries along with cheese. I liked the bacon egg and cheese one better than the sweet kaloche. Wouldvisit again. The prices are also pretty reasonable. Read more
Delicious. Filling. Cute! A friend brought these fresh kolaches into work, and they were still warm. We were surprised at how... hefty they feel-- it is STUFFED with all the good stuff. I had a sausage jalapeño egg kolache and it was a tasty breakfast andI wanted to elbow my way for a second bun. We'll be checking it out on our own some other time. Read more

I heard about kolaches just recently and this place was a great recommendation by a friend who visited who lived in Texas. Love... the savory and sweet options, they make the perfect duo. The bread was nice and soft with the perfect amount of deliciousfilling. I enjoyed the egg, cheese and bacon along with an apricot and pistachio one! Read more
Fast, friendly service, and fair prices. The store is fairly small so I?d encourage you to get these to go. The kolaches... themselves are amazing. They have several sweet and savory options that would satisfy just about anyone. I got one of the?spicier? options and did not find it spicy, but I was coming from months of eating Arizonan Mexican food so it?s hard tocompare. We got two savory and three sweet pastries at ~8:30am. They were a bit cold and doesn?t seem like fresh baked as they claim to.... The bread is okay, not too hard and not too soft. Just doesn?t taste and feel like it?s made on the same day. Nothing specialwith the flavor too. Read more
One of our favorite places to visit anytime we visit the Salt Lake City downtown area. The food is so good that there's no other... place like this in the SLC area. Make sure you visit early in the morning, to get a chance to taste all kinds of flavors. Read more
