Chunga's on Redwood Rd prepares and serves the best Mexican food in the Salt Lake valley. Their choicest menu item, in my... opinion, is their Tacos Combo, Pork Al Pastor. They take the time to prepare the tacos with diced onions, fresh cilantro andpineapple. The side dishes, black beans and rice, consistently hit the mark and are the very best! I?m 100% literal when I say this is my favorite food. The steak burrito with green sauce is my go to. I moved away for about a... year and this is the food I missed the most. So happy I get to enjoy this again. I usually just pick up from this location butwhen I want to eat in I go sit on the patio of the original location. Chunga's has two locations. We went to the location on redwood. They didn't have a lot of seating so we decided to take our meal... to go. We read reviews that recommended ordering over the phone instead of online. So that is what we did and it was great!They had our meal ready for us right on time! We actually loved the prices. For a meal with two tacos, rice, beans and a drinkit was $8. Very affordable! They had a simple menu, with all of the options you would want from a Mexican restaurant. Wedidn't love our food. We might have ordered at the wrong location, or come on a bad day but we felt the meat was dry, and therice and beans were just okay. We were a little underwhelmed by our experience. Read more

Famous "Taco al Pastor" seasoned pork meat like no other, their burritos, huaraches, pambazos, gorditas, tacos and all otherfood is made just like it would be in Mexico City. Their chipotle salsa is one of the best I have tasted. You cant go wrongcoming to this restaurant, their waitresses and servers are friendly and willing to make sure you have a great experience. Ilove that the have the playing traditional music that makes you feel like you are dining in a restaurant in el Zocalo, or nearTepito. Sooo happy Chungas has opened another location. This place is so good. I think they have the best Al Pastor in the state, hands... down! Their Al Pastor burrito smothered in green sauce is my go to. Their nachos though are way good as are their tacos andquesadillas. If you haven?t tried this place, give it a try. Very authentic, delicious Mexican food. Read more
