This was a nice surprise. Very nice and friendly waitress staff! Loved the freshly baked Focaccia, so good with homemade... marinara, pesto dipping sauces. Their house salad dressing really good, lots of herbs. The cheese steak Stromboli was tastyenough but bottom was overdone. The Romeo and Juliet dish was tasty but you have to like a heavy egg batter dish. The babyspinach side dish was perfectly done. All in all a very nice dining experience! We?d go back again. Read more

Freshly made focaccia bread is served warm to the table with delicious housemade dips. Our favorites were the flavorful pesto... and the traditional tomato. The salad that came with our meal was fresh, and the house homemade dressing really made it one ofthe best salads I've ever had. The dishes were authentic Italian, and were mouth-watering heaping portions - that we were ableto experience again with leftovers. We will definitely be back the next time we travel through the area. Was at this tiny but very nice and familiar restaurant in Salem, VA. Literally familiar restaurant since it's been run by... Italian family, as far as I've heard from the colleague of mine, who recommended that one to me. I was there today for the veryfirst time and must admit it was a very, very good call!???????? First once I got in there, I was kindly shown the table andthen a very nice waitress explained to me that I may either get something from the regular menu, or I may have a buffet. Thelatter sounded like a good idea, so I took the buffet option.???????? And for a very reasonable price, one may get anythingthat's served that specific day, and as much as one can only eat.???????????? The variety of food on the buffet today was veryimpressive. I had some pasta with chicken and dipped in the cream sauce, some fried chicken wings and pasta filled with cheesein tomato sauce. And everything was really incredibly delicious! And what's most important, all was served very fresh!! Youcould really smell it and taste the freshness of all productsand dishes. Loved it and definitely will visit that nice Italianrestaurant soon again!!???????????????????????? Read more

I've eaten here probably 5 times in my whole life and thought it was over priced but wasn't bad food. I just got home from... picking up my order and paying $24. I unwrap my garlic bread and it has mold on it.......$24 gets you lobster ravioli with TWOshrimp, a side salad and bread with mold on it....awesome....the head chef or owner should really be checking these sinceapparently they are pre wrapped in foil and left to sit under a heat lamp....the girl behind the counter was very nice though. ? 11/17/21, 6:15PM ANOTHER negative experience. This time they forgot the cheese on my wife's food. Not even bothering to call... again. We're done eating here. They've really gone downhill recently. 08/22/21, 5:45PM Our first negative experience here. Thelady taking orders on the phone/ payments for the orders was rude and disrespectful, and the person who packed our to-go orderjust threw it in and it made a mess by the time I got it home to the family. Also, the food wasn't great today and the VealMarsala ($16.99, almost nothing but noodles) is a bad deal. First and last time I'll order it here. Verydisappointing... ORIGINAL REVIEW: The best Italian restaurant in the area, hands down. Fresh, delicious and fully able toaccommodate with gluten-free options from most of the menu. Everyone gets what they want at Mamma Maria's. Also, the Gelato isabsolutely fantastic. Awesome staff and the restaurant itself is cozy and comfortable. Read more
