I usually eat breakfast here (once a month) but decided to order something different. I ordered the small plate fish and chips.... Fish tasted like it was fried in old oil. Fries were cold and limp. Coleslaw was warm and too sweet. Service was sub par. Therestaurant was not busy. I'll stick with breakfast. It's not outstanding but good. Seems the busier they are the better theservice is. A few minutes upon arrival, we get seated, get our waters... we got the menu spent about 5 min picking out what we wanted, and... 45 minutes later we just had to leave because , one it was already 10pm and two, we had a similar experience at the one locatedin north salem.. After we picked what we wanted and realized no one was paying attention, we had our menus piled at the end andmade it obvious we were ready by looking & patiently waiting so I did not want to risk how ever much more time to place ourorder plus how ever much time it would take them to serve us, slow service, no communication, nothing... The commercial st location has attentive service with honesty about wait and staff performance. They did great with limited... staff. I was happily surprised at the rib special over the labor day weekend. Tender baby back ribs with a tangy bbq sauce. Weenjoy the easy casual experience of our visits. Walked in tonight with my daughter and we were told “we aren’t seating anybody right now because the cook is going on... break.” ????? If you need to close due to staffing issues, put up a sign saying “Closed” and lock the doors (and pleasetake down your “Open 24 Hours” sign). Or offer an apology and coupon for a future visit. But to treat customers like theyadd nothing but annoyances? Not okay. I’ve never had anything like this happen in a restaurant before. We are regulars hereand we don’t go expecting haute cuisine, but it’s always done the job expected of a basic diner. I’m appalled that this ishow they are allowed to operate now. With management this poor, no wonder you have staffing issues. Think there’s a possibleconnection there? Read more
I love this place but my recent experience was pretty bad. Firstly, our server was absolutely wonderful. She really tried to... fix the problem but I was still dissatisfied. We ordered eggs Benedict and the egg whites were almost completely raw. I askedthem to be remade with runny yolks and firm whites. I got hard, fully solid eggs when they came back. No runny yolk at all. Ijust wasn’t worth sending them back again since we waited 15 minutes for them to be remade. Unfortunate breakfast experience. Read more
My son ordered a takeout meal found a hair on the food called the restaurant acted like it was nothing. Didn’t offer a refund... or a replacement. Shame on you! Read more
From start to finish. The service was excellent. The food was tasty and delicious. Tender steak, yummy stuffed hash browns and... toast toasted just right. With orange juice to wash it all down. I'm pleasantly satisfied. The cleanliness of the restaurant isadmirable. My husband enjoyed his breakfast also. He had the meat lovers skillet. Topped with eggs over easy and toast donejust right for dipping in his eggs like he likes. We are going home today with one of the best pies in town. Had a group of 6 people go in for brunch at noon. We waited in the lobby for 30 minutes, finally got seated, waitress gave us... coffee and water. Got our order in and were told food was going to be about 45 minutes- 1 hour. Ended up leaving because it hadbeen well over an hour, come to find out the kitchen had not even started the order. Other tables that were seated after us gottheir food first. Left at about 2:15!!! No food, one refill, ridiculous. Worse experience eating out. Not going back to thatplace ever. 0 stars if it would let me. Read more
