We have been trying to find a really good local restaurant in Salem since we moved here. I read an article and the reviews on... this place and we decided to give it a try. First off parking is a bit of an issue when this place is busy as it shares theparking lot. Then we were told it would 45 minutes to be seated and about 20 minutes for our food. That's fine we decided towait and give this place a try. Once seated our waitress Christen D. Greeted us. Service was great. Now on to our order. Myhusband decided to try the biscuits and gravy meal. The eggs were cooked and came out hot. The sausage was also hot and tasty. His biscuits were nice and fluffy but as stated in other reviews his gravy was meh. I ordered the corned beef hash and poachedeggs. It was delicious if you like corned beef hash go with this. Now for the bad The French toast . It was as dry as theSahara desert. The toast did not soak in the custard long enough. I feel sad as after reading all the reviews I was expectingsome awesome French toast. Guess I got the whammy. My suggestion is if you like dry crunchy French toast order this. Otherwise pick something else. Read more

Walked in with the family of 4. Looks and smells clean with minimal noise and empty waiting chairs inside. We had decided to... dine by noon. So their was plenty of parking spots in the back of the restaurant. They open at 6AM and close by 2PM. Theyquickly sat us down but, the wait for our waitress to come serve us water and hot beverages was about 5 minutes. Finally, ourRhonda came to our rescue. She was kind and very customer service friendly. After ordering the food came out in about 20 to 30minutes. And it was definitely worth the wait. 2 (eggs sunny side up) with 2 strips of bacon was $6 plus a plate of applesinnamon French toast was extra $15. The eggs were decent but the French toast was great. Highly recommend to eat when fresh;will get cold pretty quickly. Bread is sweet and the apple is just enough to sink your teeth in to enjoy. They do have restroomsfor both women and men. Tables for large and small parties. Parking for disability is available. Very near hotels if passing byon the freeway. Read more

Everything is delicious! And large portions! This time, my son had the biscuits and gravy combo, hubby had the corned beef hash,... and I got the French toast. Amazing! By the way, unless you want some to take home for the next day, I'd get one piece of Frenchtoast! Unknowingly, I got two... and they are each bigger than your hand! Needless to say, one went home with me. Yum!! Read more

The restaurant is in a very convenient location. Great menu selection. The hamburger was actually very good. The San Diego... Skillet was good but one of the toast was burned. Read more

I'm a big fan of corned beef hash and theirs is one of the best I've had! Large chicks of cubed as well as shredded corned beef... mixed with their hash browns, onions, peppers, cheese, and I think some pulled pork. The toast was huge (homemade I believe) andcame with a little cup of homemade strawberry jam. Read more

I had to try this location and was VERY curious as to what they kept from their catering small buisness days. We had the... buisquits and gravy, side of bacon and eggs...bacon was great, gravy was bland but good, buisquit was heavy even though lookedlight. Overall not what I thought it would be at all. We also had the fresh bread (very good), homemade strawberry jam (tart butgood). The chicken fried steak...super thick, breading was sliding off of it and bland. My eggs were scrambled but runny...ewww.When asked how things were, I told Bryce (a HUGE asset to this buisness) and he had them make me done ones and, brought themwile they were hot. The farmers breakfast has some brat looking sausages and they have good flavor but fatty. Orange juice wasreal stuff. Water is not filtration so seriouse chlorine taste. Overall for me this was a upper diner like experience. It wasnot what I thought it would be for being a sassy onion buisness branch. Solid diner food, bland but, great employees. **Sidenote** Carry cash tip... They require the wait staff to tip out a solid 3% of sales (I personally don't agree with that, specially since my eggs were a runy mess) so even if you get great service and your food isn't correct....tip repremandingdosent work. The waiter still has to tip out. Now if you personally tip the Indevidual, they are allowed to keep it. Read more

Reminds me of an old school diner although this one doesn't have a whole lot of character. It's a little run down and definitely... needs to be updated and remodeled. The staff is very kind and the chicken fried steak I had was pretty good. If the gravy andeggs would have been hot, I would have given it another star. As it stands probably average. Ambience isn't great. Read more

Very pleasant experience. We got there at 6.05am. Hardly anyone there, so service was fast and quick. The food was excellent and... well prepared. The French toast???????????? is world famous as stated, for sure. Would definitely go back for more goodness.Ronda was great and well versed with sassy history.????????????. If you looking for a good breakfast place early in the morning????, have some sassiness at the onion. They close at 2pm. Easy parking, close to freeway Interstate 5. Market St exit 256.Heading north, turn left???? under freeway. On the left side after McDonalds. Going south turn ????right, still on the leftafter same McDonald's. Happy Eating????????????. If you tired after a great meal, there is a good Holiday inn across the street. Read more
