I've been wanting to go to Epilogue ever since I moved to Salem years ago, but unfortunately it never happened until... recently. I'm disappointed I didn't go sooner, Epilogue is legitimately the best restaurant in Salem. The first thing that popsout is how happy the staff seems, and that's typically a huge indicator for how "good" a place is. That happiness and lovetranslates into the food and drink. My god how delicious. We, as a party of 2, ate pickled egg, the West Philadelphia sandwich, pierogi, and cocktails. Fantastic food made by fantastic people in a fantastic environment. They've got lots of literatureavailable to borrow and rent to educate yourself on oppression, systematic racism, bias, and more. One thing that stood out-Knowing their reputation as proper excellent fine dining food, I called and asked to make sure I was dressed appropriately. Iwas told "come as you are, even shorts and a t-shirt, we welcome all," and the person answering the phone was audibly excited tohave us in. Just wow. I can't wait to visit the new location once they move, and I'm glad I got to try the original! Thank youagain, Epilogue team! Read more

I've been hearing good things about this place. I finally ventured out. I loved the vibe from the moment I walked in and... actually it started before I arrived by whomever answered the phone. She was very welcoming and professional and explained therules which I was absolutely OK with. While waiting I noticed several plates come out of the kitchen that were tantalizing. Iasked one of the patrons what they had and they replied with a very pleasant answer. I decided to order that dish as well. Theblue crabcake sandwich. I ordered a very clean tasting and refreshing margarita as well. Everything was great up through thatpoint except for three separate bites of my sandwich I was spitting out shells. It was a little off-putting because of thesandwich aspect. Thus the 4 stars. I finished my meal off with an amazing layered hazelnut cake. And the staff is alsowonderful there that I couldn't help but really like this place. I'm sure they have many great dishes which I will be venturingout soon. And I know over time I will change my review to a five star. Read more

My husband and I decided to stop by Epilogue today for a long overdue visit. While there the staff was incredible and made... perfect drink recommendations (and I must say that the whiskey sour was in fact the best whiskey sour I have ever had!). Ourstarter of the parsnips was absolutely delicious and we loved the flavor of the mustard greens and garlic. We each order asandwich, I got the Philly and he got a smash burger and both were on a GF waffle which is probably my new favorite way to havea gf sandwich EVER lol. We also ordered the oatmeal cookie and it was honestly the best oatmeal cookie I have ever had. Handsdown the best meal we have had in salem to date. The staff was incredible and even though they were being barraged with hatefulcalls they handled them with grace and made sure their guest were well taken care of. Read more
