Reviews for Chira's | Restaurant and Catering in Salem, OR
My husband and I love coming here for date nights. The prices are reasonable for the quality food that is served. ALL of the... staff have been kind to us, the waiters/waitresses, the cook, the bar tender and the baker always dresses up our desserts.Drinks are ???? Read more
Came for our weekly dinner club. I had great company and good food. I had a Huckleberry Sour which was yummo! I chose the big... nachos which were BIG. Now the reason for 4 stars was this. On the nachos came olives. These olives tasted like they werepickled or something. They were NOT standard olives one would expect in a nacho dish. I feel like they should have told meeverything in which was on it, at the time of ordering. Otherwise the food was great, the company was great, and the service wasgood. I would return. Read more
This is a 5 star restaurant to me. The food was amazing and so was the service. We had an amazing waitress who was super funny.
The service was super friendly and helpful. The soup and salad that came with the dinner were very good. We had the Parmesan... encrusted halibut. The fish was good but slightly overcooked (our only quibble). We look forward to coming back soon. Read more
This restaurant is inside a large old building downtown. There are other businesses inside set out in a courtyard setting but... each with a unique space. The food was excelent I would say this place is a gem. Refind menu with a variety of dishes andpreparation. We had 4 gusts. I had an awesome Skilled Rib-eye steak perfectly seasoned and a tasty butter sauce with garnish. Sogood. Prime rib, butternut squash ravioli, salmon. Everyone said they enjoyed their meal. Our server Ruth was excelent as well.Had a great command of the details of the menu and their drinks. She was attentive, friendly and went the extra mile with ourneeds. Great overall experience. Hand's down the best service I have received in a Salem restaurant in the last decade! Grace, our server, was OUTSTANDING! I was... part of a 30-top family celebration and that would be a challenge for anyone all by themselves, yet she handled it with ease. She was personable, friendly, and had a good sense of humor! Apart from the service, the drinks (and bartender) as well as thefood (and kitchen staff) were also fantastic! Around the table there was a total variety of food, and although some dishes had aslight delay in arriving, we all expected this because of how large our party was. I personally had the poached pear salad withchicken and it was incredible! There were also rave reviews by the people around me for the fish tacos and the steak salad. Ihad never really entertained going to Chira's before we were booked here for this party, however after this experience it hasquickly gone to the head of my list for future night's out. Thank you Chira's and thank you Grace for a wonderful and memorableevening! Read more

Chef Yuri is a real master of flavor. And prices!Fantastic value. Best value for fine dining anywhere. Awesome dinner for two is usually less than 60 bucks. Read more
It was a variable experience. The fresh bread brought prior to the meal was excellent. Warm with a slightly crunchy exterior... and a soft interior with a pleasing chewiness. My husband's meal came with a Ceasar salad. It was properly made, traditionaland delicious. His rack of lamb was expertly cooked to medium rare and bursting with flavor. He was equally impressed with theside dishes. The broccoli was topped with a cheese sauce that was tasty yet light. Smashed red potatoes were topped with bacon, cheese, and scallions. My meal was notably different. I opted for the Greek salad which is offered with the option to addchicken or beef. I chose beef. Although the portions were generous, the whole thing was a bit of a soupy mess. The steakslices, plunked on top of lettuce, was just warm enough to make it wilt. Unfortunately, the meat had zero flavor. I offered abite to my husband who confirmed this . Under the lettuce was a mound of very wet shredded carrot, diced feta and cucumber plussmall bits of pepperoncini and artichoke: A soggy Greek 'salsa' swimming in a pool of very acidic dressing. This was quicklypushed aside. I abandoned the meal in favor of dessert. The Creme Brule, mercifully, was lovely. Read more
