The reason I was disappointed is this. It is not nearly as good as it used to be. I worked in the area back in the 80's so I... ate there from time to time and the food was delicious. Today the service was GREAT, the food not so much. I had the filletmignon cooked med rare. It was not juicy but dry. My wife had salmon and asked to have it cooked rare. It too was dry andsomewhat over cooked. Everything else was very good. But, it is a steak house. I never expected the steak ???? would not beup to par. Thank goodness the server was excellent. The 2 stars are for my most recent visit. Normally I love this place the staff is amazing and the food is great. However, this... evening we were EXTREMELY disappointed with our waitress. Now I get being busy, but we were pretty much ignored. Our food wasdelivered by someone other than the waitress and they were polite and asked if we needed anything else. I said no because Ihadn't noticed that my side of BBQ hadn't been on my plate. I waited for our waitress to come by but instead she went to thetable next to us. I waited for her to finish speaking with them before I tried to get her attention. The second she finishedwith them she turned her back and walked away. So, I waited for her to come back. She went back to the table next to us (by nowmy food is getting cold) I get her attention ask for BBQ and a water and wait. She comes back to the other table and bringstheir drinks and walks away. Finally, now that my food is cold she brings my water and no BBQ. I ask for it again. She brings itbut my bun is now cold and hard as a rock and I can't eat it. I eat the rest of my food and watch as our waitress attends thetable next to us several more times. We are now waiting for our check and she is no where to be found. I go up to the front toask for our check and as another girl comes with me to see what table I am at our waitress comes running over with the check. Ipull out my card and put it in the folder. I am now standing waiting to leave and our waitress is gone again. So, I go up frontto pay, the gentleman up there acknowledged me and said he would be right with me. While I am waiting my waitress comes andtakes my check. I, who normally leaves a big tip, left her nothing because there is NO reason why she couldn't have attended tous when she visited the table right next to us multiple times. Read more
Tonight my workmates took one of our managers here for a retirement supper. There were 12 of us. The people were very nice and... did everything to accommodate us including separate checks. Our server, Tara, I believe she said her name was, was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we really had a great time. Thank you to the crew at the Salem, NH T-Bones. You truly are thebest! My mom and I aren't from the area but we were shopping nearby, got hungry, and decided to stop in this place for a quick bite. ... It's kind of dark and dingy inside- reminds me of a old pub chain restaurant. It definitely could use an update, but we werethere for the food, not the ambiance. They have a solid menu with lots to choose from, but no French fries? Just sweet potatofries and potato chips which I thought was a bit odd. I ordered a small side salad and half sandwich and it was $16 which ispretty steep for a pub like this. The food was truly tasty and everything was very fresh tasting. Our waitress was attentive andfriendly. Great experience overall. Not sure we'd stop in again simply based on the prices, but a tasty place to grab a bite ifyou're in the area! Read more
