Today was my day off, mom wanted to come here so we took a drive beautiful day to Salem. We left Roxbury early 9am. Got here... about 9:50am. Mom & me took a walk around the beautiful park! Around 10:50 she got a picnic table I was the first in line, thenabout 9 people behind me. I ordered 2 Captain Combo plates comes with fries & 3 golden onion rings clams,fried shrimp, Friedscallops, and fried haddock! The staff of girls where friendly great customer service! The haddock was delicious cookedperfectly the outside batter was well proportioned, the shrimp was cooked well tasted fresh cleaned good! Clams small belly weremy favorite fried tasted great no grit taste at all! Fries crispy on outside and moist inside and the onion rings delicious!This was a great day for me & my mom and the view is unbelievable the lake kids in the water having fun and kids in the parkdoing activities painting Portrait! I got the lobster roll with buttered toast and clam chowder. The lobster roll and fries arrived pretty cool in temperature. The... fries were basically stale, it was that cold. The lobster roll was tasty, although it was pretty small (about 5 inches long).The clam chowder was quite creamy and yummy. Fun, friendly staff. Outdoor seaside seating and lots of fried breaded deliciousness on the menu. Worth a stop.
The location is why this establishment gets 2 stars - it's right by the ocean (seating). It is slightly lower in price but... that's because they give you less. My wife likes the batter here better. They don't substitute onion rings for the fries. Youhave to order them separately and I honestly don't think they are anything to write positive about. If my wife asks to visitagain I'll attempt to change her mind. We spent $92 dollars for 3 people. Even our Mummy did not compare it well with othersimilar Seafood establishments. Read more

Great service; great... food; nice peopld, and met the owner, Angelo. 8 days and 18 lobster rolls later, the Clam Shack is #1 this year, in 2019, and2017. We love this place. The staff is friendly and fast. The prices are responsible and the food is really good. The view is... absolutely beautiful and calming. Perfect place for a date. Anyone visiting Salem mass needs to definitely stop here beforeheading home. Read more
They have a fantastic lobster roll It is packed with lobster meat with just a very light addition of mayonnaise The slight... sweetness of the grilled brioche roll further enhances the flavor of the lobster It is served with a good portion of Frenchfries On another visit I had the fried clam plate Also delicious The setting is wonderful There are a number of picnic tables tosit at with views of the water and the beautiful willow trees This visit the seagulls were much more polite. On one visit I sawa seagull swoop down and grab a lobster roll out of a woman's hand. Now they seem to keep their distance and just sit around andstare I will be making another trip to the Clam Shack before the summer season ends Read more
