All the meals we've ordered here have been delicious! A gorgeous antique-style building with a great atmosphere.

The service was great and I would rate it 5/5. The food was a 3/5. It was overpriced in my opinion and we were overcharged for... one of our dishes, which took a while to correct. Read more

Had dinner there with family and left amazed by the food! I'm not familiar with Tai food and expected not to like it very much.... Totally changed my mind after eating there! The food was delicious! Just wrapping up dinner on the patio at Suwanna. Food was flavourful and delicious. Staff and owners were welcoming and caring.... Had the pleasure of having Zoé take care of us, absolutely lovely and thoughtful. We were offered freshly washed blankets onwhat is a somewhat chilly evening, while discussing the first year of ownership with the new patrons. Felt very welcome despitehaving our 6-month old baby with us, which is not always something restaurant owners and stuff seem to like. They accommodate uswith all of our special baby needs! We asked advice on the menu and were explained the whole thing in detail (which madechoosing difficult cause everything seemed delicious!). Will definitely come back the next time we pass through St-John - andwill call 24 hours in advance to order the mouth-watering slow-cooked duck on the menu! Read more

By far my favourite restaurant in Saint John, my go to dish is cashew chicken and a popia (kind of like a spring roll!). I... stopped by for lunch this week with my 5 year old daughter and they were so accomodating, they made her a yellow curry, extramild and made it a little sweeter. She loved it. She is asking to have "suwanna food" for dinner today and its her favouriteplace to go! She also loves the cabbage and carrot salad, the masaman curry and i absolutely love the sweet and sour chicken. Ithas a pineapple sauce instead of the typical red sweet and sour sauce, the lightly chicken is battered in a light, very crispbatter that adds the most delicate crunch when you bit into it! Disappointed this time. It has been a few years since I've been at the Suwanna Restaurant. I think good Thai Food needs Thai... Basil. There was none in the curries. Hopefully if I go back the experience will be better. UPDATE: Went back a year later.Very disappointed in price vs quality. Thai dishes without Thai basil. Prices on average 22$. This is 10$ more than I pay inOttawa. Have to say, Saint John has other options to consider. The owners are very nice. But that is not enough to go back. Read more
