The past few years, we've enjoyed smoked turkey for Thanksgiving from Mackenthun's and didn't hesitate about continuing our... "tradition"! Picked up this year's delicacy and the nice woman (I should have asked her name) rang me up quickly and she carriedit to my car, so I didn't risk dropping it (I'm in a wheelchair)! The whole ride home, the car smelled amazing and it took allmy restraint to not rip open the plastic and start gnawing on it! Thank you, Mackenthun's for amazing meat, and such attentivestaff! Incredible selection of local items and the arroma of smoke is incredible as it hits you walking through the door. Rosemary,... Garlic and bacon wrapped pork tenderloins is our family's go to. We also enjoy the Fresh Fajita Mix and you can never go wrongwith their house made selections of summer sausage and meat sticks. I've heard a lot about this little meat market since moving back to the Metro area. When I was requested to pay a visit, I... thought "What the heck." Of course, my wife checked it out first and brought home some thick cut smoked Pork Chops. Fantastic! Iam a connoisseur of Beef Jerky... And this place is most certainly in the top five or of the hundreds I have tried. The CampfireJerky is nice and mellow... A great nibble for those who live life cautiously... But if you like a full tasting Jerky, thenString is the way to go. Amazing flavor with a lingering aftertaste that can only be described as afterglow! So glad I stoppedin today.
