I had good experience here. I went there because of the event from the newcomer's group for the sugar shack. It's actually the... place to eat and enjoy the group conversation while looking into pretty scenery of St. Lawrence river. After the meal, they willpour the maple taffy on the snow and then you can eat it like candy. There was also small farm nearby with chickens and goats. Ialso enjoy the horses carriage. The food is good with beans, bread, soup, saussage, potato, eggs, pancakes. The staffs were alsoattentive to give you refill of coffee or tea. There were also music during lunch. Great day out! Absolutely awful food. Almost all of it was cold. Beans tasted like they came out of a can. We were supposed to get... entertainment. They didn't have any. Staff waiting on tables with hoodies on. It was supposed to be a traditional quebec mealwith entertainment. Place was very poorly decorated for Christmas. Looked like stuff the dollar store threw out. Read more
Very disappointing experience. We made a reservation for our family through their website a week earlier for a time for an... evening dinner. We received a confirmation email that our reservation was accepted. Today, after a 50 minute drive to therestaurant, we arrived 10 minutes early to find the gate to the property was closed off. We then called to see what was goingon and the individual that answered the phone was only able to tell us that they weren't open withouy any acknowledgment of ourreservation. It would have been nice to receive a call, text or email if the reservation need to be cancelled. If you plan togo here, make sure you call ahead before you leave as you might waste you time, as they tend to change their schedule withoutnotice. Read more

We were driving around the island and noticed a sugar shack. We decided to visit. The place has a very steep decline going to... the water front. The road wasn?t smooth at all. When we reached the bottom of the hill a dog approached the car barking nonestop. I thought the owner would come get him but this did not happen. The kids didn?t want to get out. Unfortunately we didn?tmake it inside. The owner should tie up his dog or at least come get him if he wants any visitors. Read more
