It was close to the end of the evening so I don't know if that played a part in it but the pizzas were very scarce of toppings... and cheese. Disappointed in the food taking into consideration the Zeldas reputation for great pizzas..service was great, foodjust wasn't.. Read more

Very good pizza from this old school pizza joint. Wasn't quite Chicago deep dish, more like medium deep, was very good though

Incredibly rude. Called to inform them that: 1. They gave the wrong salad dressing. 2. They didn?t cut the pizza 3. They didn?t... provide silverware or napkins They basically said ?so??. Pizza was good though. Read more

The front door is actually a portal to a 60s Chicago bar and pizza joint. You pass the bar and into a cozy lit dining room with... tall backed booths and open 4 and 6 top tables. We ordered a medium cheese and pepperoni, which was 6 big slices. The crust isA+ and is the perfect complement for the extra sausy toppings. The artichoke dip comes in a small pie crust cooked in the sameovens and is nearly a meal in itself. A half pitcher of Track 7 IPA tied its all together nicely. We will be back, again andagain. It's a unique take on pizza, obviously not for everyone, but we love it. We take home a large regular veggie pie with extra... garlic, open the box, and add a dash of salt and little grind of black pepper to bring out the flavor. The crust is savory,medium-thick and crumbly-crisp. As someone said, the crust makes this pizza, so if you like the crust, you'll probably like thepizza. The build of the pie is somewhat unique, with the cheese placed on the crust before the bake, under the sauce. This way,the cheese creates a moisture barrier that keeps the crust dry. We can usually snack on a large pie all weekend, with the lastpieces being just as good as the first. Eat it cold or reheat a couple of slices in a large covered frying pan and enjoy. Isay "snack," but a slice pretty much makes a meal, especially with a salad or sides. Call and order 50 minutes ahead and pickit up at the side door in the alley. We've never found the service to be rude, but I can see how some might. Let's just say mostexchanges are direct and no-nonsense, like one might encounter in New York. Zelda's has been here forever and has a loyalfollowing; we hope they're here for a long time to come. Read more

Still the same . . . Thankfully! Zelda's being Zelda's. Service is take-out only. Take-out is on the side of the building. You... walk up to the table and give your name. If your pizza isn't ready they move on to the next person. Just stand aside and wait. Iasked to add a soda, no soda. Check your pizza before you leave. No frills just tasty pizza. The Spinoccoli pizza is my absolutefavorite!! I am not a feta fan BUT this pizza is amazing as is!! If you haven't, it is a must try. I live 30 mins away and whenI got home it was still perfect, not soggy. The pizza crust brings it all together. We also got a combo and it was same asalways, delicious. Zelda's is a Sacramento staple. Thank you! Read more

A unique Chicago-styled pizza joint in the heart of Midtown. Warm ambiance with a dive-bar feel, Zelda's offers a stuffed pizza... unlike any you've ever tasted. Paired with a pitcher of Budweiser or Blue Moon, you are sure to be satisfied. Read more
