We ordered the bbq chicken and beef combo plate and the bbq beef plate and was quite disappointed with the food. The chicken was... bland and the beef was salty and dry. It lacked hawaiian flavor. We had high hopes for this place with all the 4 and 5 starrating. Do not recommend coming here. You will be disappointed. Better off Ono. Read more
Sacramento is very fortunate to have its fair share of Hawaiian BBQ restaurants. And this place, "Tasty Hawaiian BBQ" is no... exception. In fact, it is one of the better spots I've eaten at in comparison to the more popular places such as "L&L" and"Ono". Located in the South Natomas area of Sacramento, Tasty Hawaiian BBQ has been in business since 2018. The best way to findthis place is that it is right off of Northgate Blvd. and tucked in between the Arden-Garden connector and W. El Camino Ave. Theparking lot is shared with several small business as well as a 99 Cents Only Store. As far as the inside at least during myvisit (on Sunday 6/19/2022), indoor dining was closed and everything was takeout only. Even though it has only been opened for afew years, it had an old school hole-in-the-wall feel to it. The large menu directly behind the main counter was large and easyto read. Here you will find several options including family meals, regular-sized meals, mini meals, appetizers, rice bowls, andtropical smoothies. Since I wasn't craving a full-on meal, I ended up going with a ""BBQ Beef" mini meal while my +1 went withtheir "Teriyaki Chicken" mini meal. These were priced at $7.99 which is quite a good deal considering the sharp increase in foodprices. Within less than 5 minutes, our meals were ready. They were conveniently placed in a styrofoam container complete withone small teriyaki sauce and utensils. Since the weather was very cooperative, I drove to a nearby park to enjoy my lunch. Afteropening up the container, I was impressed with how generous the portion was for the mini. This included several very hearty cutsof beef complete with moist white rice, creamy macaroni salad, and buttered cabbage. The flavor was out of bounds amazing as thebeef itself was seasoned to perfection. I ordered a family dinner with bbq beef, Kalua pork and I paid an additional $4 for the short ribs. The good: The pork was good... as well as the macaroni salad. The bad: The bbq beef was ridiculously dry and the ribs that I paid extra for were dry and tough.The service was good but I don’t recommend the food. Read more

We price checked all of the Hawaiian BBQ’s in area along with their ratings/photos and Tasty came out on topfor a good reason! Ok, I've only tasted the macaroni salad because a relative bought food from Tasty Hawaiian and gave me his. If you've seen the... movie What About Bob, that scene where he was eating that chicken and moaning like a weirdo, that was literally me as I waseating this macaroni salad!!!!
