So I'm from Sonoma county where I'm convinced the best California Mexican food is born. As a transplant to Sacramento I have a... hard time finding a good place to get good tacos. I hate avocado on my tacos I feel like it kills the flavor and burn I expectfrom a good street taco; where all you have is the pure taste of tortilla and meat with its onions cilantro and salsacompliments all combine together to create an explosion of flavor in one bite. El Forastero delivers in amazing street tacosthat are simple and filled to the brim with the perfect ratio of meat to cilantro and onions they have 4 different salsas tochoose from and i live the darker hot one with a slightly smokey flavor that's rich depth goes amazingly well with there tacos.This has become my go to place for all my taco cravings! Place was clean, girl behind register was very polite and helpful, food was delicious. Flautas and Asada plates were excellent.... Hot salsa was hot and agua de jamaica wasn?t too sweet, spent about $42 bucks, it was great! Thanks will be coming back soon! Read more

The customer service is always excellent. They were one of the first restaurants to put up the huge glass partition between the... customers and the food counter. The food is always delicious and for a better price than most Mexican restaurants. 4 starsbecause sometimes I'll find a hair in my food. It's happened twice, consecutive days, so I took a long break from thisrestaurant. Happy to say there was no hair this time around. The drinks are always yummy. I need to order the large next time. Idrink the smalls really fast. This is my second go-to Mexican restaurant. I only have two. That says a lot. Nacho cheese andwell-cooked and seasoned shrimp is a must. They have that here. Great little hidden gem. While traveling and trying to eat keto, my son and I stopped here for a quick breakfast. Definitely... willing to work with me and still have a quality Mexican breakfast that is keto friendly. My son not so much keto friendly, butboth were very, very good. Also looks like they cater or make it easy to pick-up a tray of carne asada or carnitas, and ofcourse rice and beans too, if you can eat those. Read more
Probably the worst el forastero in town, ordered a lot of stuff for my fiance' s birthday and it was all horrible. We ordered... ham egg and cheese burritos and found potato on it even though it didn't state that on the menu bit into the burrito only tofind egg shells in it also tortilla was old and stale. Ordered a crunchy chicken taco when we got it it was soggy and chickenwas dry. Ordered a carnitas taco and the shells were stale and carnitas was over cooked dry and bland. Ordered a combo plate gotthe wrong plate and again everything was bland and dry. What does this place got against flavor? Read more
